"She stayed at home and was a full-time mom until all of us children were grown," said State Rep. Deborah Whyman (R-Canton). "She worked part time to help when all three of us (children) were in college at the same time." Whyman said her mother's devotion extended to others. "At Thanksgiving, people who didn't have a place to go on the holiday were always welcome at our house." Mrs. Whyman retired as a data entry processor at Advanced Data Corp. in Livonia in 1995. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Northville. After her husband, Robert, retired about 10 years ago, the couple bought an Airstream trailer and traveled across the country with the Wally Byan Caravan Club.
