SOUDER, HEDRICK, RUSH. - On Friday evening, Aug. 3, in a tragic accident, five out of six occupants in an automobile met almost instant death when a trolley struck the car in which they were riding.
Esther R., daughter of the late Wallace A. and Ella K. Souder, was born March 20, 1917; died Aug. 3, 1945; aged 28 y. 4 m. 13 d. In her youth she was converted and united with the Rockhill Mennonite Church, of which she was a faithful member until death. On May 22, 1937, she was united in marriage to Ralph B. Hedrick, and at the time of death was the mother of three children - two sons and one daughter. She was a devoted wife and mother, and diligently led her children to understand the person of her Saviour, to enjoy the Bible, together with all the Christian activities offered for her children. She is survived by her husband and one son, Donald, aged four years.
She was buried in August 1945 in Rockhill Mennonite Church Cemetery, Rock Hill, Bucks Co., PA, Find A Grave Memorial# 11000200.

Souder, Emma Kratz, daughter of Joseph and Mary Ruth, was born in New Britain Twp., Pa., Oct 27, 1887; died suddenly of a heart attack May 2, 1961; aged 73 y. 6 m. 5 d. She attended the annual Franconia Mission Board meeting the evening before and planned to attend that morning. She stopped at the Rockhill Mennonite Home near Sellersville, and died a few minutes after driving her car there. On April 6, 1911, she was married to Preston A. Souder, who died March 23, 1959. Surviving are 2 sons (John R., of the homestead and Lester R., Skippack, Pa.), 2 daughters (Dorothy R.-Mrs. Charles E. Miller, Telford; and Sallie R.-Mrs. Stanley G. Shisler, Harleysville), 2 sisters (Margaret-Mrs. Henry K. Delp, Line Lexington, Pa.; and Alma K. Ruth, Philadelphia), one brother (Horace K., Colmar, Pa.), and 14 grandchildren. One sister and one grandchild preceded her in death. She was a member of the Rockhill Church, where funeral services were held May 6, in charge of Clinton D. Landis and Alfred D. Detweiler.
She was buried in May 1961 in Rockhill Mennonite Church Cemetery, Rock Hill, Bucks Co., PA, Find A Grave Memorial# 11000500.

In her youth she united with the Mennonite Church at Line Lexington, Pa. On Dec. 18, 1915, she was married to Frank L. Leatherman of Line Lexington, in which community they lived their entire married life. Her husband preceded her in death. Surviving are 5 children (Kathryn-Mrs. Norman Mininiger, Quakertown, Pa.; Sarah and Pauline, Hatfield, Pa.; Lois-Mrs. Henry Musselman, Line Lexington, Pa.; and Roscoe, Telford, Pa.), 6 brothers, 4 sisters, and 8 grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Line Lexington Church, Nov. 7 , in charge of Claude Meyers. Interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Leatherman, Frank L., youngest son of Henry and Catharine (Lapp) Leatherman, was born Nov. 12, 1885, near Line Lexington, Pa.; departed this life at his home in Line Lexington, on Aug. 15, 1956; aged 70 y. 9m. 3 d. Death was preceded by an illness over 7 years. In his youth he united with the Mennonite Church and remained a faithful member of the Line Lexington congregation, where he served in both Sunday school and church as long as health permitted. In 1915 he was united in marriage to Florence M. Ruth, who survives. Also surviving are 4 daughters and one son (Kathryn-Mrs. Norman Mininger, Quakertown, Pa.; Sarah and Pauline, Line Lexington; Lois-Mrs. Henry Musselman, Souderton, Pa.; Roscoe, Harleysville, Pa.), 8 grandchildren, one sister, and 2 brothers. Funeral services were conducted at the Line Lexington Church on Aug. 18 with merle Ruth and Claude Meyers officiating. Burial was made in the adjoining cemetery.

She was survived by two daughters‚ Lucille "Lucy" Price and her husband‚ Ken‚ of Granger‚ IN and Lois Mininger of Quakerton; a son‚ Philip P. Mininger and his wife‚ Phyllis‚ of Perkasie; five grandchildren‚ David‚ Daniel‚ Justin‚ Jeff and Mike; a brother‚ Roscoe Leatherman of Souderton; and two sisters‚ Lois Mussleman and her husband‚ Henry‚ and Sarah Leatherman all of Souderton.
In addition to her husband‚ she was preceded in death by an infant son‚ Norman David; and a sister‚ Pauline Leatherman.
Funeral services were held Saturday‚ Nov. 13‚ 2004 in the Rocky Ridge Mennonite Church in Quakertown. Interment was in Rocky Ridge Mennonite Cemetery‚ Quakertown.
