Biography

Hon. William Charles Stover was born on 11 July 1841 in Botetourt Co., VA.1 He married Jane M. White on 16 February 1869.1 He married Sarah A. White on 4 April 1881.1 He died on 8 October 1908 in Ft. Collins, Larimer Co., CO, Mr. Stover, moved with his parents to So. Bend, Ind., in 1851; started overland in the spring of 1860 for the Pike's Peak region; freighted with oxen from the Missouri River to Montana for several years, then located at Fort Collins, Colo., where he thereafter made his home. Was a member of the Territorial Council, 1873, and the Constitutional Convention of Colo., 1880 and for Governor, 1888. Organized and was president of the Poudre Valley Bank and also was extensively interested in cattle raising. Member of the Masonic fraternity.1

Dr. George Henry Stover was born on 8 March 1871 in Ft. Collins, Larimer Co., CO.1 He married Anna Harp on 5 June 1899, No children.1 He died on 25 March 1915 in Denver, CO, Dr. Stover attended Denver University. Graduated from Medical School of same. Began the practice at Eaton, Colo., and was elected Mayor of the town. Moved to Denver and specialized in the X-ray and became a recognized authority; contributed to many medical publications; was made dean of the Denver University Medical School; had many honors conferred on him by medical societies. Because of injuries sustained through the use of the X-ray he lost his health.1
