Forrest O. Newcombe, 76, Macomb, died at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, 2005, at McDonough District Hospital, Macomb. He was born July 22, 1929, in Wichita, Kan., the son of Ernest and Eunice (Mueller) Newcombe. He is survived by one daughter, Michelle S. Rossmiller, Macomb; four grandchildren, Jeremiah Newcombe, Justin, Thea, and Quentin Rossmiller; one daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Newcombe, Chicago; and two sisters, Mary Kay Gragg, Cheyenne, Wyo., and Judith Ann Stuart, Kansas City, Kan. He was preceded in death by one son, Michael Newcombe; and two grandchildren, Zachary and Margaret Ann Rossmiller. He was a Staff Sergeant in the Air Force at Chanute Air Force Base from 1950-1953. He retired from the Physical Plant at Western Illinois University. He was a member of the Wichita Kansas Albert Pike Lodge #303 AF & AM and also Ipava Order of Eastern Star #226. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Macomb. Graveside Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2005, at the Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with Pastor Michael Thomas officiating. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital in Chicago. Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home, Macomb, is in charge of arrangements.

Walter C. "Sonny" Van Order, 73, Vermont, died at 4:15 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 4, 2005, at Astoria Gardens, Astoria. He was born Feb. 9, 1932 in Flatwoods Neighborhood, NW of Vermont, Schuyler, Co., the son of William W alter and Christine (Chenoweth) Van Order. He married Carolyn Barkley Newcombe, June 29, 1985 in Vermont. She survives. He is also survived by one stepdaughter, Michelle (Joseph) Rossmiller, Macomb; one stepdaughter-in-law, Mary Lou Newcombe, Chicago; four step-grandchildren; and one aunt, Mildred Van Order Clauson, Peoria. He was preceded in death by one stepson, Michael Newcombe; and one half-sister, Ann Meyers. He was a bar manager for the Carroll Rankin American Legion Post #26 of Vermont. He was a 20 year Navy Veteran, retiring in 1971. He was a member of the Carroll Rankin American Legion Post #26 of Vermont, where he was a past Commander and was currently serving as Adjutant. He was a lifetime member of the Lewistown VFW Post 5001. He was a member of the American Bowling Congress for over 30 years and went to the National ABC Tournaments for over 20 years. Graveside services were held Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2005 with Military rites provided by Carroll Rankin American Legion #26 of Vermont. Burial was at the Ipava Cemetery, Ipava. Memorials may be made to the Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice, 331 South Main, Virginia, Il. 62691. Shawgo Memorial Home, Astoria was in charge of arrangements.

William Walter VanOrder, 73, of Vermont, died at 11:48 P.M. Friday at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Monday at Kost Memorial Home in Vermont with the Rev. Carl Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Harris Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday evening.
Mr. VanOrder was born March 22, 1903, in Schuyler County, the son of Walter and Mary Elizabeth Johnson VanOrder. He married Christine Chenoweth Vance March 28, 1931, in Palmyra, MO. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Vermont Christian Church. Surviving are his wife; one son Walter of Vermont; one step-daughter, Mrs. Annabelle Myers of Galesburg; one brother, Lester of Paso Robles, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Mildred Clawson of Hanna City; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. One brother preceded him in death.

Mrs. Christine VanOrder, 74, of Vermont, died May 2, 1981, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville. Mrs. VanOrder was born May 21, 1906, the daughter of Ezra and Flora Ruby Chenoweth. She married Walter VanOrder on March 28, 1931, in Palmyra, MO. He died Dec. 17, 1976. Surviving are one son, Walter C. of Vermont; one daughter, Mrs. Annabelle Myers of Galesburg; two grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Wilma Toland and Mrs. Freda Walters, both of Galesburg and Mrs. Pauline Riden of Moline; and two brothers, Melvin of Table Grove and Virgil of Ipava. She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary Unit 26 of Vermont. Funeral services are to be held at 2 P.M. this afternoon at Kost Memorial Home in Vermont with Rev. Glenn Anderson officiating.
