Lorna Faye Taylor, 57, of Naturita, died April 26, 2000, in Naturita. She was born March 12, 1943, in Bell, California, to Loran and Refa (Meyer) Essman.
Mrs. Taylor was a homemaker. She was active in the Republican Party in her community. She moved from California in 1965 and had been a Colorado resident since. Mrs. Taylor attended art school in Denver. She was a talented artist and seamstress.
Mrs. Taylor enjoyed reading, listening to music and working with art programs on the computer. She made many beautiful gifts for her family members.
On Oct. 14, 1962, in Bellflower, Calif., she married Noble Taylor, who survives. She is also survived by her parents of Canon City; a son: Loran David (Meladee) Taylor of Naturita; five grandchildren: Jyn, Andrew, Gaston, Tristen and Asia; sisters: Dawn (Pete) Nelson of Beulah, Jacqueline (Mark) Mitchell of Canon City; a niece: Amy Nelson of Beulah; nephews: Mark and Michael Mitchell of Canon City; aunts: Edna (Lyle) Jacobson of Canon City, Luella Nagel of Minnesota; an uncle: Frederick (Marge) Essman of Florida; and numerous cousins.
Memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, May 4, at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dennis Sillaman. Interment follows in Nucla. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of choice.
She was buried in April 2000 in Nucla Cemetery, Nucla, Montrose Co., CO.
