He was born in Shawnee, Okla. to John H. and Gladys F. Morgan. Growing up in Oklahoma, he was in the Navy during World War II. After the war, he continued working in Journalism as an editor on several Oklahoma newspapers. He then decided to go into teaching earning his masters degree from the University of Oklahoma and his doctorate from the University of Southern Illinois.

Harmon taught at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas in the Mass Communications Department for 24 years before retiring. He was an ardent supporter of the Texas Tech Lady Raiders basketball team. Harmon is survived in his immediate family by his wife, Lucinda, his son, John, his daughter, Lisa, and a grandson J. Heath, as well as, several other relatives.



Harmon Lloyd Morgan began military service U.S. Navy. He received a degree.

Obituary:

Lila Lillian Wiggin, 80, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, passed away August 15, 2004. She was born July 6, 1924, in Keota, Oklahoma, the daughter of Sampson Austin and Louisa Margaret (McClure) Chubbee.

She lived in Muskogee for over 20 years. Her mother was a part of a small group that established the First Indian Baptist Mission. Lila was a longtime active member of the First Indian Baptist Church. She married Gordon Rodgers Wiggin on September 17, 1960. He preceded her in death on July 14, 2004.

Mrs. Wiggin worked at Muskogee Regional Medical Center as a supply tech, retiring in 1992. She enjoyed her life and continually thanked God for her many blessings and for many friends.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; her brother, David Chubbee; half-brother, Rayson Billey, and her sister, Mary Clay.

Survivors include a sister, Lucinda Morgan of Lubbock, Texas; eight nephews, John Morgan, David Joe Clay, Wendall Clay, Keno Clay, Russell Clay, Leslie Clay, Kevin Clay and Darrell Clay; two nieces, Lisa Morgan-Shaffer and Sharon Robertson.

Mary Frances Clay of Antlers, Oklahoma, passed away March 20, 2004. She was born April 11, 1934, in Keota, Oklahoma, to the late Sampson and Louisa M. McClure Chubbee. After moving to the Antlers area in 1976, she worked at two local nursing homes as an LPN. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who traveled all over the country to watch her sons and grandsons play baseball and basketball. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Eugenia Gail Clay; son, Kerry Dale Clay, and brothers, Rayson Billey and David Chubbee.

Survivors include sons, David Clay and wife, Oma Nell, of Rattan, Oklahoma, Kevin Clay of Antlers, Darrell Clay and wife, Laura, of Moore, Oklahoma, Wendall Clay and wife, Norma Perk, of Oklahoma City, Kenneth Clay and wife, Susan, of Hugo, Oklahoma, Russell Clay and wife, Ginger, of Atoka, Oklahoma, and Leslie B. Clay of Antlers; daughter, Sharon Robertson and husband, Monroe, of Antlers; sisters, Lucinda Morgan of Lubbock, Texas, and Lila Wiggin and husband, Gordon, of Muskogee, Oklahoma; 25 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; niece, Lisa Shaffer and husband, Darren, of Plano, Texas; nephew, John Morgan of Lubbock, and a host of loved ones and friends.
