Her father preceded her in death, having passed away five years ago.
Mada was well known in and around the city. Here she grew to womanhood and after completing her education at the country school, she attended the Stafford High School and was a member of the graduating class of 1906. She was converted when a child and joined the Eureka Methodist Church. Since that time she has lived a true Christian life, taking active part in church work. She was a teacher here in Sunday School before her marriage. When she and her husband went to their new home in Ford Co. she united with the Pleasant Valley church and served in the church and Sunday School in every way that she could. In 1916 they moved to Finney Co. and located near Pierceville. She took her church letter and immediately united with the New Hope church near them. She has been a S.S. teacher and S.S. Supt. and a general worked, besides being President of the Ladies Aid at the time of her death. Mada was a noble woman, enjoying the highest esteem of all, and she will be sadly missed in the home, the community and the church.
She leaves her devoted husband, one son, two daughters, her mother, Mrs. Sarah NEWELL, four brothers and three sisters - Pneumbra, Malvin, Hardin, and Brent NEWELL, Mrs. Minnie MINKS, Mrs. Ollie IRVINE and Mrs. Martha DAVIS, all of Stafford, Kans. - other relatives and scores of friends to mourn her early death.
Funeral services were held at the home in Pierceville, Thursday afternoon, conducted by her pastor.
