M'VILLE R1 MAN DIES ENROUTE TO HOSPITAL

Frank Charles eighty-two, Millersville, R1 died at 7:30 pm Friday enroute to Lancaster General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. He had been ill for six months.

He was born in Pequea Township, a son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Lenhart Charles. He was a member of the New Danville Mennonite Church. Until three years ago when he retired, hehad been employed as an operator by Pennsylvania Power and Light Company at Slackwater. He served 33 years with the company.

Surviving are his wife, Minnie S. Mowrer Charles; three children. Lottie I. wife of Amos S. Witmer, Quarryvfille; Mrs. Minnie M. Himmelsbauch, Millersville R1 and Melvin M. Washington, D.C., four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Two sisters, Mrs. Clara Krieder, Willow Street and Miss Cecelia Charles, Lancster, and three brothers, William, West Willow, Samuel, Nebraska, and John Harrisburg, also survive.

He was buried in August 1950 in Willow Street Mennonite Church Cemetery, Willow Street, Lancaster Co., PA.

John Bernard Fetzer, 85, of 347 Stephen Street, former superintendent of Martinsburg Water Works died Monday at Baker VA Center. He had been in failing health for several years.

Born in Balitmore, Md., Jan. 30, 1891, son of George H. and Elva Martin Fetzer., he served during World War I, later joining the Merchant Marine.

He was a member of Berkeley Post 14, American Legion, and Newton D. Baker Post 896 Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He was a member of Equality Lodge No. 44, A.F.&A.M.; Lebanon Chapter No. 2, Royal Arch Masons; was a 32nd degree Scotish Rite Mason and a member of Osiris Temple of the Shrine.

He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Evers (Mary) Hockenberry and Mrs. A.W. Miles, both of Martinsburg, and Miss Sophia Fetzer of Ashville, N.C.

Two Brothers, George O. and Charles A. Fetzer, preceded him in death.

Services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Kogelschatz and Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. Howard L. Fulk, with interment in Rosedale Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from7 to 9 p.m.
