Dale Eckstein, Lorimor

Dale Gene Eckstein, 49, of Lorimor died Jan. 24, 2007 at his home.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Dale Eckstein was born Oct. 22, 1957 in Winterset to John Rockford and Hazel Marie (Elston) Eckstein. A veteran of the United States Army, Dale was a lifetime resident of Union and Madison counties.

He was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by one daughter Kati Eckstein of Osceola; his mother, Hazel of Creston; two brothers, Dave Eckstein of DeSoto and Jerry Elston of Unionville, Mo.; and a sister, Donna Eckstein of Creston.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.

Arrangements were handled by Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset.

OBITUARY

Aug. 10, 1927 - Nov. 27, 2014

Charles J. Feltz, 87, died Thursday, November 27, 2014 at the Devereux House following a brief illness.

He leaves five children including James of Southington, CT; Kimberly of Marblehead, MA; Peggy of Derry, New Hampshire; Charlie of Amston, CT and Joe of Colchester, VT as well as 10 grandchildren.

He was born and raised in East Rochester, NY, the son of Joe and Marion Feltz.

In his early years, Mr. Feltz attended the University of Rochester and graduated in 1950 with a BA in Chemistry. He served in the United States Navy in World War II from 1945-1946 and again in the Korean War from 1952-1953. He received the Victory Medal and achieved the rank of Yeoman 2nd Class. He met his wife, Marno Wiesler, and they were married October 15, 1955 in Michigan.

After serving with the Navy, Mr. Feltz had the opportunity to join Celanese Corporate as a sales representative. Later he moved to New Jersey and practiced industrial real estate. In 1973 he moved his family to Manchester and then to Danby, Vermont where he started a farm. Farming became his passion. He raised Heifers, pigs, chickens and sheep. He loved maple sugaring as well as candle making. In 1988 he and his wife moved to Venice, Florida where they joined the Jacaranda Country Club, played golf and met many nice friends.

A memorial service will be held on June 12, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Venice Memorial Gardens in Venice, Florida. Donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Farley Funeral Home in Venice is handling the arrangements. To send condolences please visit www.farleyfuneralhome.com.
