Eleanor Lasater Scott age 91, died peacefully in her sleep on Monday December 15, 2014, with family at her side. Born on November 7, 1923 in Mineral Wells to Dr. Waldo Burton Lasater and the former Kate Francis Guion, she spent her childhood in the west central Texas town. Graduating the University of Texas in 1944, she moved to Dallas with her sister to pursue work in a science laboratory during World War II. In 1950, she married the love of her life, William Buerk Scott, of West Point, NY. They made their home in Dallas and raised three sons. Delighted to be a homemaker, she prided herself in maintaining a happy and steady home life for her family. She was a loving mother and wife. A devotee of the local arts scene, she rarely missed a performance by the Dallas Opera. She is survived by her sister, Katherine Freiberger Althouse and husband Larry; her three sons, William B. Scott Jr, Dr. Burton L. Scott and wife Mari, and David C. Scott and wife Aimee; six grandchildren, Brooke M. Lupton and husband Theodore, Thomas G. Scott, Tristan L. Scott, Lauren M. Scott, Caroline L. Scott, and Evan L. Scott; 9 nieces and nephews, and 16 grand-nieces and grand-nephews. The family wishes to thank her personal caretaker Cynthia Sitz for her many years of dedicated and steadfast assistance. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 27th at 10:30am at the Church of the Transfiguration at 14115 Hillcrest Rd, Dallas, Texas, 75254.
