Biography

Paul Hart was born on 10 October 1923 in Sandpoint, Bonner Co., IA.1 He married Emily Erickson on 3 November 1946. He died on 20 March 2012 in Colfax, Whitman Co., WA,

Obituary (findagrave.com):

Paul Hart of Colfax passed away March 20, 2012 at the Whitman Hospital. He was 88. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, March 26th at 11:00 am at Peace Lutheran Church in Colfax. He will be interred at a later date at the Pinecrest Cemetery in Sandpoint, Idaho. Paul was born October 10, 1923 in Sandpoint to Marshall D. "Bill" and Lucinda (Klippenger) Hart. He grew up around Sandpoint and graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1941. A short time later Paul enlisted in the Army Air Corps and served during World War II as a radio operator. Part of his tour of duty also included time in Okinawa before being honorably discharged in 1945. He returned to Sandpoint where he married his sweetheart, Emily Erickson, November 3, 1946. Paul worked briefly for the Cady & Pier Ford Dealership in Sandpoint before moving to Alaska in 1948. He was a heavy equipment operator for a coal mine near Fairbanks until 1955 when they returned home and settled on Emily's family's farm in the Selle area near Sandpoint. Paul worked for many years as a lumber truck driver and also kept busy with their small farm, raising cattle and hay. Emily worked as a credit manager at the Co-op in town and kept busy as a wife and mother. Paul loved his hobby farm but also enjoyed his family and spending time with them. They would often take "Sunday" drives into the mountains. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, especially for elk. He liked to go hiking, loved huckleberry picking and had taught himself to ski; loving to go to Schweitzer Mountain. When his son played ball, Paul helped coach the little league team. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Sandpoint and a member of the Selle Grange. Paul later went to work for the McFarland Pole Company and retired from there in 1985. He and Emily liked to travel in their RV and they were snow-birds for many years to the Arizona communities of Mesa and Apache Junction. Paul liked to golf and was a bit of a pool shark as well. He has many trophies from a pool league in Arizona that attest to his skill. They moved to Colfax about twelve years ago to be closer to family and grandchildren. They have resided at the Hill-Ray Plaza since that time and have also found a comfortable fit at Peace Lutheran Church in Colfax. Paul made many friends at the Colfax Golf & Country Club where he loved to golf and visit. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Emily, at their home in Colfax; two children, Polly and husband Kent Jones of Kenmore, WA and Daniel and wife Becky Hart, Colfax; three grandchildren, D.J., Traci and Jay Paul. He was preceded in death by older brothers Claude and Clarence. Bruning Funeral Home of Colfax is caring for the family.

He was buried in March 2012 in Pinecrest Memorial Park, Sandpoint, Bonner Co., ID, Find A Grave Memorial# 87202017.
Paul Hart began military service in 1941 WW II service -- Enlisted, U.S. Army Air Corps, Radio Operator.

Obituary (findagrave.com):

Florence Bareford McGuckin, passed away on February 13, 2012, of natural causes at the age of 98.

She was the daughter of the late John P. Bareford and Ethel Mower Bareford and was the wife of the late Lambert A. McGuckin.

Florence was a graduate of Downingtown High School and Drexel University. She began her working career at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital Surgical Outpatient Department where she worked as a secretary for six years. The work was very interesting and the doctors and patients she worked with provided her many funny stories she loved to share with her family. Although she really enjoyed her job at the hospital she took a position at the Shipley School in Bryn Mawr for a much larger salary. Her three years there were interesting and fun and she hated to leave but an illness and operation forced her to find work close to home. She took a position at the Downingtown National Bank until her health improved two years later. Florence then decided to help the war effort and joined the Navy as a WAVE. After basic training, Florence went to San Padro, California to serve her country. When her mother died, she went home to Downingtown for the funeral and on the train trip back to California she met her handsome soldier named Lambert. He was on his way to California to be shipped to Japan and he informed her that he was going to marry her. Luckily the war ended and they were married and honorably discharged from the service. They moved to Norwalk, Ohio for a short time then back to Downingtown to make their permanent home and so Florence could take care of her widowed father. Florence then took a job at Texas Eastern in Eagle, for four years while her husband went to school to be a machinist. When Lambert and Howard Lewis Pyle started McGuckin and Pyle Machine Shop, Florence quit her job at Texas Eastern and did the bookwork for the new business. Florence was active in the American Red Cross and helped with many bloodmobiles throughout the country. She was honored and proud to receive the Clara Barton Award for her work with the Red Cross during the blizzard of 1958. Florence stayed at the Methodist Church for days during the storm to help people who were without shelter or food because of the heavy snow. She was also a member of the Women's Club of Downingtown and taught adult Sunday school for many years at the Downingtown Methodist Church. She also served as the organist at the church and enjoyed playing the organ at many weddings in the area. As if that wasn't enough to do, she was also involved with the Girl Scouts and was the cookie chairman for many years. Her training as a camp counselor at Camp Innabah as a teenager really helped with her Girl Scout duties and organizing the hundreds of boxes of cookies in her living room every year.

Florence is survived by her son John McGuckin and his wife Kristin of Downingtown and her daughter Mina Mowrer of Guthriesville with whom she lived; her grandsons Andrew Mowrer and his wife Beverly of Coatesville and Joshua McGuckin of Broomfield, Colorado; her granddaughters Amy Kabatt and her husband Daniel of Glenmoore and Megan McGuckin of Washington, D.C. Florence was also lucky and very happy to have a great-granddaughter Alia Kabatt of Glenmoore whom she adored. She will also be missed by her sister Lillian Simmons of Wilmington, Delaware, two nieces and two nephews.
