Funeral Services Held Wednesday At Wayne
Mrs. Mary Thuman, 74, Anamosa, died Sunday, Oct. 9, at an Iowa City hospital, where she had been a patient for ten days.
Funeral services, were held Wednesday, Oct. 12, at 2 p.m. at Wayne Zion Lutheran church. Burial was in Oakwood cemetery, Monticello. Goettsch Funeral home, Anamosa, was in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers included John August, Carl Husman, Allan Siebels, Louie Hayen and Lawrence Rieken.
She was bon Feb. 9, 1886, daughter of Henry and Catherine Harms Hayen, Wayne township.Jones County. She was married to Carl H. Thuman, May 2, 1905. Couple farmed in Wayne township and near Amber until Mr. Thuman's death in 1931.
Since her husband's death she had lived at Fairview and had been employed as a housekeeper for Chris Bendixen, Anamosa, for the last several years.
Survivors include three daughters, Gladys, Mrs. Phillip DeWitt, Clinton; Hattie, Mrs. John Grant, Anamosa; and Lorene, Mrs. Melvin Skalsky, Mechanicsville; and one son, Willis Thuman, Stone City.
Other survivors include three sisters, Meta Hedden, Mrs. William Reiken and Mrs. Rudy Tobiassen, all of Monticello; and two brothers, John Hayen and Henry Hayen both of Monticello; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and two sisters.
She was buried in October 1960 in Oakwood Cemetery, Monticello, Jones Co., IA, Find A Grave Memorial# 72450021.

He was retired from Prudential Insurance Company and he was of the Methodist faith.
He is survived by a son Frank Bolton of Ormond Beach, FL; a daughter Patricia Erlenbaugh and husband Richard; grandchildren Ann Marie Bynum and husband Matt, Mark Erlenbaugh and wife Cason; great-grandchildren Matthew, Luke, John Bynum, and Cason's sons Alex and Ethan.

Charles “Bud” E. Russell, 95, of Bronson passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Teddy Bears & Angels AFC in Union City.
A memorial service will be held on Friday December 12, 2014 at 2:00 PM, at Batavia Cemetery in Batavia Township with Pastor Terry Siler officiating.
Charles was born April 25, 1919 in Albert Township to Charles J. and Mary E. (Gamble) Russell. He worked for LA Darling and then at the Coldwater Regional Center before retiring in 1984. Bud loved farming and working his horses. In his younger days, he enjoyed going square dancing.
Bud is survived by his longtime companion Erma Hoard of Bronson; sons Brian (Suzi) Hoard and Terry Hoard, all of Coldwater; his sister Betty Stoddard of St. Joseph; his grandchildren Makeya Hoard, Brelyn Hoard, Nicole (Jeremy) Miller, and Ashley Hoard, four great grandchildren, and his niece Charlene Taylor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, two sisters, and his daughter-in-law Renae Hoard.
Memorials may be directed to the Bronson or Coldwater Food Pantries.
He was buried in November 2014 in Batavia Cemetery, Batavia, Branch Co., MI, Find A Grave Memorial# 139241486.
