Donelda "Donna" Bowie, age 56, of Tecumseh OK, went to be with the Lord on June 25, 2011, in Oklahoma City OK. She was born November 12, 1954, in Wichita KS to Olen and Ava (Armstrong) Plato. She was raised in Oklahoma City and El Reno OK, graduating in 1973 from El Reno High School.
Donna enlisted in the Army Reserves 95th Division, and that is where she met the love of her life, William "Bill" Bowie, Jr. They were married on January 8, 1976, in Shawnee. After their marriage they raised their family in Tecumseh and have lived there since.
She first worked in the family business, Mid-State Waste Management, then became a seamstress and was co-owner of "Two Ladies Sewing Shoppe." Donna was a member of The Order of Eastern Star, Tecumseh Chapter #30, twice attaining "Worthy Matron." She was very active with the International Order of Rainbow for Girls. Donna enjoyed Christian music, daily devotionals and daily prayers. Her family was the focal point in her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Raymond and David Plato. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Bill, of the home; 4 daughters and 2 sons-in-law, Amy and Alex Foster of Tecumseh, Stephanie Partain of Tecumseh, Pamela and Paul Donnelly of Earlsboro OK, and Patricia Crossman of Shawnee; 10 brothers and 6 sisters-in-law, Tommy and Brenda Plato of Calumet OK, Marcus and Dana Plato of Irmo SC, Olen, Jr., "Steve" Plato of Gulfport MS, Ron and Alex Plato of El Reno OK, Linda Plato of Azle TX; Terry and Carol Miller of Wichita KS, Michael Miller of Dodge City KS, and Jeff and Song Miller of Tumwater WA; sister and brother-in-law Laurel Ann and J.O. Norris of Ft. Worth TX; mother-in-law Virginia Sue Bowie of Tecumseh; grandchildren Makayla and Caleb Partain, Ashley and Mark Rhea, Tyler, Rikki, and Leslie Donnelly, and Michelle and Thomas Hays; and numerous other family and friends.
She was buried in June 2011 in Fairview Cemetery, Shawnee, Pottawatomie Co., OK, Findagrave #72488281.
