Services for Blossom J. Ewing, 92, a former Elvaston resident who died Tuesday, May 4, at the Methodist Sunset Home in Quincy, were held Saturday in the Lamporte Funeral Home at Hamilton with the Rev. Kenneth Wilfong and the Rev. Herbert Crede officiating.
Burial was in the Elvaston City Cemetery.
A memorial has been established to the Elvaston Presbyterian Church
She was born Sept. 9, 1889, in Prairie Township, a daughter of Frank and Helen Jackson Walker. She married C. Lee Ewing in 1912 in Hancock County.
She was a member of the Elvaston Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs, Dorothy Rickert of Tuscon, Ariz; sister, Mrs. Ruth Nelson of Carthage; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, three brothers and a sister.

She was born Feb. 11, 1918, in Hancock County, the daughter of Marion and Ella Rice Blythe.
Mrs. Ewing was a grammar school teacher for many years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Carthage and a member of the Retired Teachers Association.
Survivors: a daughter, Lana L. Ewing of Springfield; two grandchildren; and three sisters, Evelyn Blythe of Carthage, Ila Bachman of Elvaston and Betty Mosley of Hamilton.
Remains will be cremated.
Private interment services will be held at a later date.
Ellinger-Kunz and Davis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

ELVASTON,IL. - Dorothy Lee Rickert, 78, a former Elvaston resident of Tucson, Ariz., died Thursday (Dec. 28, 1995) in the Life Care Center in Tucson.
Born Nov. 1, 1917, in Elvaston, Mrs. Rickert was a daughter of Clarence Lee and Blossom Walker Ewing. She married Francis B. Rickert on Dec. 26, 1937, in Illinois. He died in October 1976. She moved to Tucson in 1949.
Mrs. Rickert had retired after 15 years as secretary for the Tucson School District. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Tucson.
Survivors include a son, Robert L. Rickert of Tucson; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Donald.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Lamporte Funeral Home in Hamilton by the Rev. Fred Niles.
Burial will be in the Elvaston Cemetery. Visitation will be held after 8 a.m. Thursday.
Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or the American Heart Association.

Mr Rickert, who resided at 4032 E Montecito Ave., died yesterday at Tucson Medical Center.
Services will be at 1:00 pm tomorrow at Arizona Mortuary, 4601 E 1st St, Burial will be in Hamilton, Ill., where he was born.
Mr Rickert, who was honored as Arizona's outstanding biology teacher in 1963, was science department chairman at Rincon High School and also taught at Catalina and Tucson High schools.
He received his bachelor's and Master's degrees at Western Illinois University and studied at the University of Arizona.
He is survived by his widow, Dorothy; sons, Donald F of Inglewood, Calif., and Robert L of Bakersfield, Calif.; and a granddaughter.
