Services for James R. Curry of 507 S. Wesley Ave. will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bisch Memorial Home. Rev. H. M. Hildebrandt will officiate and burial will be in Chatham Cemetery.
Mr. Curry, 44, died at 5:50 a.m. Wednesday at his home. He had been a resident of Springfield his entire life.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia; father, William A. Curry of Brainerd, Minn.; two daughters, Nancy Ellen and Lynn Marie Curry, both at home and one sister, Mrs. James Harrison of Springfield.

Findagrave #Richard L. Harrison, Sr., 82, of Springfield, Illinois passed away on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2022 at St. John's Hospital.
He was born on April 10, 1939 in Springfield, the son of James and Vivian (Curry) Harrison. He married Sandra Jean Jones on Jan. 30, 1960 in Springfield and she preceded him in death on April 8, 2015.
Dick worked as a diesel mechanic at Roland Machinery and at J. Wright Equipment in Springfield. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 965. He was known to be a hard worker and was able to fix almost anything. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Most of all he loved his family. He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his 3 children, 3 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 5 siblings, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and his wife Sandra, he was preceded in death by a sister Sue Hayes, son in law Ronald Greenwood Sr., nephew Dennis Harrison Jr., brothers in law Carl Johnson and Jim Hayes Sr.

Sue died at age 72 on 10 Jan 2013 at White Co. Medical Center Hospice in Searcy, Ark.
She was a 1958 graduate of Lanphier High School and owned her own housekeeping business. She also worked for 20 years at St John's Hospital in housekeeping and medical records. She was proud of raising her children, as well as caring for 25 foster babies. She enjoyed time with family, camping, knitting, Bunco, and cooking. She loved her rose bushes, hanging fuschia plants, hummingbirds and making peanut brittle.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one granddaugher, Karen Winner. She is survived by her husband, James C. Hayes; one son, James W. Hayes (companion, Kim Frick-Baskett) of Sherman, 3 daughters Jamie (husband, James)Winner of Searcy, Ark., Dawn (husband, Doug) Winder of Monticello, and Alison (husband, Andy) Boosinger of Springfield, 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Richard (wife, Sandra) Harrison of Springfield, Marilyn Johnson of Springfield, Dennis (wife, Lois) Harrison of Petersburg, Phylllis Harrison of Dawson, Gary (wife, Kathy) Harrison of Dawson, Becky (husband, Pete) Ochs of Springfield; sister-in-law, Linda Vandiver of Springfield, and many nieces and nephews. James C. Hayes, 80, of Searcy, Ark., formerly of Springfield, died at 10:10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016.
James was born May 26, 1936 in Lincoln, the son of Bertram and Henrietta Dunlevey Hayes. He married Sue A. Harrison on June 20, 1959 in Springfield; she preceded him in death on Jan. 10, 2013. She will be remembered during James' ceremonies and will be inurned with him at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
James graduated from Lanphier High School and attended a meat cutting school in Toledo, Ohio. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy as a Seaman Recruit. He began working as a Meat Cutter for Caster's Grocery and then as a Shipping Clerk for Eastern Packaging. He also worked in the warehouses of both Pepsi-Cola and Coca-Cola. He retired from the print shop in St. John's Hospital. James was very proud of raising his children, as well as caring for 25 foster children. He was a member of Church of Christ, where he served as a Deacon, and was involved in small groups. James enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, eagles, NASCAR and football.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Karen Winner; brother, Riley Hayes; and two sisters, Janera Dickerson and Ruth Creemens.
He is survived by his son, James W. SPRINGFIELD - Carl H. Johnson, Sr., 69, of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at his home.
Carl was born April 1, 1940, in Springfield, the son of Roy and Helen Lomprez Johnson Sr. He married Marilyn Harrison on February 25, 1961, at Fifth Presbyterian Church in Springfield.
Carl dedicated 30 years as a sheet metal worker with the Union Local 218, retiring in 1992. He was an avid outdoorsman, fishing, hunting and camping whenever he could. More than anything, Carl loved his family, adoring his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Preceding Carl in death are his brother, Roy Johnson, Jr.; and his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Johnson of Springfield; his children, Carl (wife, Cathy) Johnson Jr. of Mt. Auburn and Angela (husband, Robert) Spradlin of Alexander; grandchildren, Carl (wife, Crystal) Johnson, Melanie (husband, Greg) Sanderfield, Lisa Gochanour, Vivian and Robert Spradlin; great-grandchildren, Olivia McKee and Sophia Sanderfield; his brothers, Mondell (wife, Gail) of Middletown, Frank (wife, Emma) of Bloomington, Jack (wife, Judy) of Springfield, Jerry (wife, Linda) of Bloomington, and Everette Johnson of Taylorville; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
