Ruth M. Remaklus, 71, of Eaton, died Monday, Aug. 17, at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Ind. Born Aug. 23, 1926, in Eaton, she was the daughter of the late Homer and Eula (Tipton) Piatt. She was a 1944 graduate of Eaton High School and a 1948 graduate of the Miami Valley Hospital School of Nursing. Mrs. Remaklus was a retired registered nurse from Franciscan Medical Center in Dayton, and was a member of the Eaton Church of the Visitation.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Lee A. Remaklus; daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl L. and Paul Schaeffer, Mary L. and Tim Goubeaux, all of Eaton, Lisa L. and Martin Moore of Mesa, Ariz.; sons and daughters-in-law, Mark G. and Denise Remaklus of Eaton, James S. Remaklus of Zionsville, Ind., John A. and Suzanne Remaklus of Eaton; 14 grandchildren; and cousins.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, at Visitation Catholic Church, 407 E. Main St., Eaton, with the Rev. Thomas Fitzsimmons officiating. Burial will be in Preble Memory Gardens, West Alexandria. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, at Barnes Funeral Home-Eaton Chapel, 220 E. Main St., where a Rosary service will be conducted at 8 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Eaton Emergency Squad or to the American Diabetes Association.

Lee A. Remaklus, 94 of Eaton, OH died Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at VanCrest Nursing Center in Eaton, OH Lee was born on April 27, 1922 in Fort Recovery, Mercer County, OH the son of the late Nicholas & Louise (Steinbrunner) Remaklus. He was a U.S. Navy W.W. II veteran and received a Purple Heart Medal for injury received in the Central Pacific Area in July 1944. Lee was a Barber at the Hairport Barbershop in Eaton for many years. Member of Visitation Catholic Church, American Legion Post # 215, V.F.W. Post # 8066, and the Knights of Columbus all of Eaton, OH.
Preceded in death by his first wife of 50 years: Ruth Mae Remaklus in August 1998; Second wife: Joyce A. (Carrington) Remaklus in December 2016; Brothers & Sisters: Loretta Remaklus, Collette Remaklus, John Remaklus, Mary Bergman, Joe Remaklus, William Remaklus, Margaret Meeks, Ann Keesling and Catherine Current.
Survivors include his Children: Cheri & Paul Schaeffer; Mark & Denise Remaklus; Mary & Tim Goubeaux and John & Sandra Remaklus all of Eaton, OH; Lisa & Bob Trimble of Mesa, Arizona and James & Angie Remaklus of Savannah, Georgia. 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Step children: Terri & Robert Lohmann of Cincinnati, Ohio; Todd & Amy Charles of Eaton, OH and several step grandchildren.
Family will receive friends from 3:00 to 6:00 P.M. on Monday, January 2, 2017 at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, OH. The Preble County Honor Guard will provide military honors at 5:45 P.M. and Rosary Service at 6:00 PM. The Funeral Mass will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Visitation Catholic Church 407 East Main Street, Eaton, OH. Interment will be in Preble Memory Gardens – West Alexandria, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to Visitation Catholic Church or Eaton Emergency Squad.
