Note: Sarah Polk may or may not have been the biological mother of Philip Franklin Dellinger, as stated on his Social Security application. The wife of Philip D. Dellinger listed on the 1870 census was named Ann. Ann Fadeley had married Philip Dellinger on 6 OCT 1865 in Shenandoah County, per Shenandoah County marriage records. But her maiden name was not Fadeley. Reviewing the 1860 census, Ann Fadeley can be found listed in the John and Elizabeth "Krag" (Craig) household, with children John Polk (12) and Sarah Fadeley (5). This same Sarah Fadeley appears to be the same as the Sarah Fadeley listed with her mother in the Philip D. Dellinger household in 1870, age 18, whille "Franklin" is strangely listed as 12 years of age, when he was only 4 or 5. DLB 2019.
