Brittain, Harold Dean
Harold Dean Brittain, 71years, of Council bluffs, passed away January 13, 2008.
He was born January 7, 1937,in Council bluffs to the late Nephi and Mildred (Kennedy) Brittain. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1958. A fork lift operator for Campbell Soup Co., he retired in 1997 after 24 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Dean Brittain; great grandson, Blaine Joseph Watts; parents; sister Flossie Allen; and brothers, Melvin and Kenneth Brittain.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Julia (Strubel) Brittain; son, Douglas Brittain, of Council Bluffs; grandchildren, Heather Brittain, Michael Brittain and wife Liza, all of Omaha, Neb., Brandy Kroon and husband Andrew, Jessica Watts and husband Scott, all of Council Bluffs; great-grandchildren, Hunter Dean Brittain, and Alexis Renae Kroon; brothers, Charles Brittain and wife Margeret of Council Bluffs, Milton and Jerry Brittain, both of Missouri; sister, Wanda of Florida; nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, January 16, 2008, 6 to 8pm at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Family and friend will meet Thursday at 10am at Cedar Lawn Cemetery for a graveside service, Rev. Dr. E.A. Hering, officiating. Memorials will be directed by the family.

Heather was born January 24, 1979, in Alliance, Nebraska, to Michael D. and Sally (Snipes) Brittain and graduated from Bellevue, Nebraska East High School.
Heather M. Brittain, age 38, of Michigan, North Dakota, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2017, in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, North Dakota.
She was preceded in death by her father, Michael D. Brittain in 1985; mother, Sally Balash in 2003; grandfathers, Albert Snipes and Harold Brittain.
Heather is survived by brother, Michael Brittain and wife Liza; nephews, Hunter and Jackson Brittain; fiancé, Ryan Murray; grandmothers, Fern Snipes and Julia Brittain; and many other family members and friends.
The funeral will be 9:30 am Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Cutler-O'Neill Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home, 545 Willow Avenue, Council Bluffs, IA. Pastor Michael Petri, Timothy Lutheran Church, will conduct the service and offer words of comfort. Heather will be laid to rest with her parents at Ridgewood Cemetery, Council Bluffs, Iowa. The family requests that friends join them for a luncheon afterwards, in the Cutler-O’Neill Community Room.
