Arthur Eugene (Gene) Sweeten, 90, of Kokomo, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2015.

Born March 9, 1925 to the late Arthur and Sallie Hornback Sweeten, he lived his entire life in Kokomo and retired from Delco Electronics after many years of service. Gene married Marjorie Ulsh on December 8, 1946, who preceded him in death on October 12, 2013 after 66 years of marriage.

Gene enjoyed tinkering with electronic gadgets, and he was a quintessential targeted consumer for impulsive purchases of all kinds. Gene also loved the outdoors where he spent many hours fishing local lakes, reservoirs and streams. While he returned from these trips with extravagant stories of fish caught, there are few memories of actually having fish for any meal. Gene led a long and engaging life with an incredibly dedicated and loving wife.

Gene is survived by his children; Debra Ruedrich Jerry (Melinda) Sweeten and Sandy (Mike) Fike ten grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

Gene is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marjorie Sweeten; and sister, Kathrine Jacoby.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. on Friday at Ellers Mortuary Main Street Chapel with Pastor Eric Catron officiating.

Family and friends may call from 1:30 p.m. until service time Friday at the Funeral Home.

Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Phillip Lex Clark, 91, Sharpsville, passed away early Tuesday morning, June 14, 2016, at his home. He was born Dec. 23, 1924, to Arthur and Cleo (Fowler) Clark near Greentown. He married Phyllis J. Ulsh on Nov. 24, 1949, in Highland Park Church in Kokomo. She preceded him in death in November of 2014.

Phillip was a farmer and drove a school bus for Taylor Community School Corp. for many years. He was a former member of the Sharpsville Lions Club and enjoyed woodworking, gardening, traveling and driving his sports car.

Surviving family include his son, Matt (Brenda) Clark, Galveston; grandchildren, Tasha (Brad) Cohee, Sharpsville, Shannon (Dean) Richards, Logansport, Kim McLochlin, Logansport, and Shane McLochlin, Lafayette; great-grandchildren, Dakota Cohee, Josie Carden, Chloe Richards, Shadd McLochlin, Drake McLochlin and Laine McLochlin; and former daughter-in-law, Priscilla Butler, Sharpsville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Phyllis; son, Todd Clark; and grandson, Shawn McLaughlin.

There will be a gathering of friends and family from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at the home of his granddaughter, Tasha Cohee, 5852 W. 550 North, Sharpsville, to celebrate Phillip's life.
