Dan Becka, 79, of Houston, Texas passed away on September 12, 2018. He was born on March 21, 1939 in Ellinger, Texas to Fred and Otylia (Zgarba) Becka. He married Virginia Alexander in Houston, Texas. Dan worked for Central Freight Lines for 35+ years before retiring. He loved fishing, gardening and working on automobiles. He cherished his family and the grandchildren got a little extra love. He is survived by his wife of 27 years Virginia, daughter Debbie Parrott and husband Alan of Humble, Texas and three sons, Daniel Becka Jr and wife Lynda of Houston, Texas, Mike Becka of Houston, Texas and Ronnie Becka of Houston, Texas. Step daughter Joyce Ervin and husband Tim of Spring, Texas. Two Step sons Eddie Alexander of Houston, Texas and Frank Alexander of Austin, Texas. Three sisters Mary Ann Polasek and husband Bennie of Mentz, Texas, Gladys Matura and husband Frankie of Brenham, Texas, Alice Schovajsa and husband Donald of La Grange, Texas, and Brother Anton Becka and wife Maggie of Columbus, Texas. Fifteen grandchildren, Zachary Parrott, Dale Parrott, Stephen Becka, Alan Becka, Amber Becka, Gracelyn Becka, Amy Marie, Lauryn Becka, Lesley Hainline, Natalie Allmaras, Stephanie Alexander, Taylor Ervin, Conner Ervin, Andrew Alexander, Madison Alexander. 5 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his parents, his wife of 27 years Jeannine (Scott) Becka, brother Lad Becka and sister Georgie Hooper. Service and Burial will take place @ Earthman Resthaven in Houston, Texas 10:00 am Saturday September 15, 2018. Pall Bearers are Zachary Parrott, Dale Parrott, Stephen Becka, Alan Becka, Conner Alexander, Donnie Becka In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials to St. Jude Children’s Cancer Research Hospital.

Mrs. Doris Mae (Stivers) Johnson, 87, of Brookville, Indiana, passed away Friday, May 31, 2013 at Brookville Healthcare Cente
She was born February 17, 1926 to Herman and Blanche Bennett Albin Stivers in Pee Wee Valley, KY, and was raised in Uniontown, IN. She married Richard "Dick" Johnson on December 2, 1949 and he preceded her in death on January 9, 2008.
Doris graduated from the Methodist Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in 1949, as a surgical nurse. She also was a nurse in the Women's Corp of the Armed Forces. She was owner of the "Jontz" fashion store in Brookville for several years. Along with her husband, she owned Garr Hill Bait and Marina. She was on the Board of Directors at Fairbrook Manor serving as secretary, was a Director of the Oxford View Nursing Home, was a member of the Delts Sorority, and was on the local Chamber of Commerce for many years.
Those left to honor Doris' memory include her children, Rick (Marsha) Johnson of Mesa, AZ, Ron Johnson (fiancé Lesa) of Hamilton, OH, Randy (Cindy) Johnson of Brookville, and Tina (Tater) Flaspohler of Brookville; 7 grandchildren, Brandi Leoni, Scarlett Grauer, Michael (Heather) Johnson, Shanann (Jason) Jordan, Benjamin (Alicia) Johnson, Allison (Daniel) Payne and Joshua Johnson; 8 great-grandchildren, Coriann (Justin) Brooks, Mandi Leoni, Jaxon and Bailey Grauer, Sydney Johnson, Carter and Dalton Jordan, Wyatt Johnson and a 9th great-grandchild, baby Payne, expected in July; brothers, George W. Stivers of Rome, GA, and James Rene' Stivers of Brookville; and sister Jeanette Hackman of Brownstown, IN.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Genevieve Stivers and Laura Ann Corbin; and brothers, Vic Stivers and Herman "Whitey" Stivers.
Visitation is Monday, June 3, 2013 from 11a.m. to 2p.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 929 Main Street. Services begin at 2p.m and will be officiated by Pastor Michael L. Holman. Burial will follow in Sims Cemetery, New Fairfield.
Memorial contributions in honor of Doris may be directed to Brookville Healthcare Center.

VINITA, Elsie, 89, retired nurse's aide, died Wednesday. Graveside services 10 a.m. Saturday, Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery (Stumpff-Nowata, Nowata).
A newspaper article in the Nowata Daily Star, Wednesday, 24 AUG 1960, page 1, named Mrs. Dero Vinita, Jr. as a librarian in the Home Demonstration Club system of community libraries.
A newspaper article in the Nowata Daily Star, Friday, 16 JUN 1961, reported that Mrs. Dero Vinita hosted a meeting of the Home Demonstration Club at her home on the preceding Tuesday.
These articles could have been referring to Elsie (Page) Vinita or Lucille, second wife of Dero T. Vinitia, Sr. DLB 2020.

Lynn Claire Parkening of Cedarville, CA went home with the Lord on June 26, 2016. He was born March 9, 1940 in Omaha, Nebraska. He leaves his wife Kathy and four children: sons David and Timothi of Walnut Creek, CA and daughters Kathy of Walnut Creek and Karen of New York; five grandchildren and his sister Loretta of Banning, CA. Memorial service plans are pending.
