Paul A. Weigle Dies Sunday — Paul A. Weigle, 74, RR 1, Polo, died Sunday at the Continental Manor Nursing Home in Polo following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Polo with Rev. Andrew Tetzlaff officiating. Burial will be in South Elkhorn Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Woodin Funeral Home in Milledgeville. He was born Jan. 9, 1904 in Freeport the son of Harvey and Jemima Willett Weigle. He was a retired farmer. He married Mildred Elsey on Feb. 12, 1924. Survivors include his widow; one son, Gene Weigle of Polo; three daughters, Mrs. Ron (Neita) Bjorkland of Mt. Morris, Mrs. Dwight (Doris) Silvius of Milledgeville, Mrs. Bud (Phyllis) Davis of Polo; 14 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. Grace Woodin of Milledgeville, and Mrs. Ruby Eller of New Port Richey, Fla.; one brother, Ralph Weigle of Sterling. He was preceded in death by twin daughters and one sister. PAUL A. WEIGLE Funeral services were held Wednesday at St. Marks Lutheran Church in Polo for Paul A. Weigle. Rev. Andrew Tetzlaff officiated and burial was in South Elkhorn Cemetery near Milledgeville. Mrs. Lois Schmidt of Polo was organist and Bob Hedrick was soloist. Pallbearers were Casey Buck, Clancy Buck, Paul Silvius, Mike Davis, Kenneth Obendorf and Denver Diehl, all grandsons. Mrs. Dorothy Strite, Mrs. Fern Schmidt and Harvey Brown were in charge of the flowers.

Paul A. Forsythe, 81
RUSHVILLE -- Paul A. Forsythe, 81, of Rushville, a father, brother and friend, went to be with the Lord Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007, at his residence.
Paul was born Sept. 16, 1925, in Somerset, the son of the late John Huston and Lora Winegardner Forsythe.
He was a member of Oakthorpe Church, Farm Bureau and the Oakthorpe Cemetery Board. He was a farmer, retired fro Rockwell in Newark and was a WW II Navy veteran.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, whom he married Feb. 23, 1947, Mary Ruth Kennedy Forsythe of the home; four daughters, Donna (Kenneth) Cotterman of Rushville, Diane (Wesley) Whitley of Lancaster, Paul (James) Starner of Rushville, Beth (Dave) Stebelton of Thornville; nine grandchildren, Alan Cotterman, Deborah Eitel, Sean Mills, Cinda Neal, Sarah Kinkler, Jessica Metzger, J. Gabe Starner, Monica Stebelton and Drew Stebelton; 17 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dale (Janice) Forsythe of Harbor Hills and Wayne (Janice) Forsythe of Thornville; a sister, Jean (Earl) Bashore of Thornville; a sister-in-law, Irene Forsythe of Thornville; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Forsythe; a brother, Robert Forsythe; and a granddaughter, Leah Stebelton.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Bope-Thomas Funeral Home, Somerset. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007, at Oakthorpe Church with the Rev. Darren Edgington officiating, assisted by the Rev. Larry Edgington. Burial will be in Oakthorpe Cemetery. Somerset American Legion Leo Ryan Post 58 will provide military honors.
