Columbiana – March 16, 2008 – Lillian Weikart, 94, of 337 West Salem Street, formerly of Leetonia, died at 3:29 a.m. Sunday at the Salem Community Hospital.
Mrs. Weikart was born November 16, 1913 in Washingtonville, a daughter of Edward and Mildred Fosnacht Herman and had lived in this area all of her life.
She had been employed as a cashier at the former A & P in Columbiana. She had also worked in the office at the former Franklin Furniture and the former Salem China. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Leetonia where worked on many church projects. In later years, she volunteered with the RSVP program in Lisbon and also at the Columbiana Public Library.
She was preceded in death on April 1, 1991 by her husband, Harry E. Weikart, whom she married June 5, 1937; and three sisters, Myrna Bruderly, Audrey Schaefer, and Leila Eastek.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. James (Carol) Meissner of Columbiana; two grandsons, Dana (Abby) Meissner of Wexford, PA and Jim (Joy) Meissner of Canfield; and four great grandchildren, Ben and Carter Meissner of Wexford, PA and Julia and Jessica Meissner of Canfield.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia with Pastor Kari Lankford and Pastor William Wilkins officiating. Burial will follow in Columbiana Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday and one hour prior to the services on Wednesday.
If friends desire, material tributes may take the form of a donation to either the church memorial fund or the Columbiana Public Library.
She was buried in March 2008 in Columbiana Cemetery, Columbiana, Columbiana Co., OH, Findagrave #96429816.

David Warner Chilson, 69, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away Saturday July 22, 2017. He was born in Schenectady, New York on November 8, 1947 to William Wallace Chilson and Marian Christine (Roller) Chilson.
He grew up in Lyndhurst, Ohio (a suburb of Cleveland) and graduated from Brush High School in 1965. He graduated from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio in 1969 with a bachelor’s degree, and from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio in 1971 with a master’s degree, and in 1978 with a doctoral degree. He also attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
From 1971-1974, he served on active duty in the United States Navy at Officer Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island; at Naval Command Systems Support Activity in Washington D.C.; at Commandant 14th Naval District in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; and at Fleet Operations Control Center Pacific Fleet in Kunia, Hawaii. He served another 22 years in the Naval Reserve Intelligence Program, and retired in 1996 with the rank of Captain. He was a professor in the Department of Computer Science at Bowling Green State University from 1978 until he retired in 2009.
Survivors include three sisters Christine Chilson Berardinis of Hinckley, Ohio, Helen Chilson Lenz of Racine, Wisconsin and Carolyn Chilson Palmquist of Arlington Heights, Illinois.
Dave was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Bowling Green and of the Bowling Green Noon Kiwanis Club. He enjoyed being a guardian for Honor Flights and spending time with the veterans.
A private graveside service will take place on Saturday July 29, 2017 at Bridge Street Cemetery in Northampton, Massachusetts.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday August 12, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 126 S. Church Street in Bowling Green. Rev. Gary and Mary Jane Saunders will officiate. Dunn Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
He was buried in July 2017 in Bridge Street Cemetery, Northampton, Hampshire Co., MA, Findagrave #181726850.
