Mary Roberta Cline Copeland suffered many childhood illnesses and was restricted in her young years due to poor health. Doctors said she would never have children or live past 30. Did you show them wrong Mom. You were taken from us when you were only 69 (which was still too soon) and you had four children. Although you never got to hold your grandchildren, we know you are looking down from Heaven and watching over them. We miss you dearly Mom. You were the best mother a child could ask for.
While living in Peebles, Ohio Mary Roberta was very involved with the Womens Hospital Auxiliary and the Peebles Garden Club winning many blue ribbons. Her yard was always full of flowers she had grown and used in her arrangement. Mary Roberta designed the front cover of the Favorite Recipes & Garden Hints handbook which was sold at the 1957 World Plowing Matches.
She was buried in May 2003 in Locust Grove Cemetery, Peebles, Adams Co., OH, Findagrave #163356181.

Donald McClellan Copeland grew up on the outskirts of Peebles, Ohio. While attending the Locust Grove School, he worked with his father and brothers on the family sawmill on Hackleshin Road. When Donald married Mary Roberta Cline, her father John Paul Cline took Donald in as an apprentice teaching him the skills of a carpenter and cabinet maker. Donald's trade grew. In 1959 he moved his family to Dayton, Ohio where he continued building his construction skills. In the 1970s Donald relocated to Sarasota, Florida where he became more involved in commercial construction, building condominiums, shopping centers and office buildings there.
After the loss of his wife Mary Roberta Cline, Donald moved back to Peebles, Ohio and on October 3, 2007, he married a childhood friend and widow, Eliza Ann Workman Grabill. Donald and Annie lived in Hillsboro for a while but when he became ill, Donald was transferred to the Hospice Center at Adams Regional Hospital where he died on May 7, 2014.
He was buried in May 2014 in Locust Grove Cemetery, Peebles, Adams Co., OH, Findagrave #153351261.
