SCIO -- Willie Mae "Billie" Westenhouse passed away Saturday, April 21, 1990, at Salem Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Coleman County, Texas on September 30, 1924. She worked at Norpac Foods for 13 years and retired in 1986. She married Holley Westenhouse on Dec. 23, 1948 in Vancouver, Wash.

Survivors include her husband, Holley Westenhouse of Scio; daughter Ann Ellifritz of Aurora, Colo.; son, Tom Westenhouse, Stayton; brothers, Archie Sharp, Brownell Sharp and Kennith Sharp; sisters Lucille Giddeon of Marysville, Calif. and Gladys Andrews of Blanchard, Okla. She also has four grandchildren, Chad and Jay Westenhouse of Stayton, Terrie Smith of Declo, Idaho and Mack Danford of Phoenix, Ariz. and five great-grandchildren, Shane, Chris, Micheal and Nichole of Declo, Idaho and Billy Mack Danford III of Phoenix, Ariz.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Ed and Myrtle Sharp and a sister Morine Norton.

Services were held at Weddle Funeral Home Tuesday, April 24, 1990. Private interment was at Bilyeu Den Cemetery, Jordan.

The family wishes that contributions be made to the Cancer Society in leu of flowers.

She was buried in April 1990 in Bilyeu Den Cemetery, Scio, Linn Co., OR, Findagrave #26480580.

Jasper "Bud" Watkins, 89, of Omak, died Monday, Aug. 27, 2007.

He had lived in Omak for 35 years and had worked for the Potlatch Corp. in Idaho. He retired from Omak Wood Products after 10 years.

Survivors include his wife, Oletta Watkins of Omak; his children, Georgia Skadsem of Okanogan, Ray Watkins of Riverside and Glenda Marsh of Omak; his brother, Albert Watkins of Tulare, Calif.; and his sisters, Ethel Clement of Red Bluff, Calif., and Betty Stevenson of Middleton, Idaho.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Legacy Memorial Funeral Home in Omak.

Arrangements are by Legacy Memorial Funeral Home.

Civil War service, U.S. Army, Pvt. John and his militia group were captured by Confederate troops at Centerville, Virginia on 12 Sept. 1863, which incuded his son Granville.

Married: Sarah Talbott 14 Dec. 1843. Sarah was born 1826, died 1885. They were parents of 10 children. Their oldest, Granville B. Armstrong, was also in the civil war, a prisoner of war at Andersonville, and died there 15 June, 1864, shortly before John and a double tragedy for this family. Granville is buried in grave #1968, this cemetery.
