Lawrence Arnold Forgue Jr., age 84, of Sarasota, Florida passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2020. Lawrence was born June 18, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Lawrence and Evelyn Forgue.
As a young man, Lawrence earned his Eagle Scout rank in the Boy Scouts and graduated from York High School in Elmhurst, Illinois. He continued his studies at Loyola University. Larry married his beloved wife, Barbara and together they started their family, deciding to make Longwood, Florida their home for over 40 years. In that time, Larry, was a salesman for Brown & Sharpe and Deltronic Corporation. Upon his retirement he went to work for Walt Disney World as a Security Officer for 15 years. Throughout his time in Florida, Larry was very involved in his parish, The Church of The Annunciation, in Altamonte Springs. He was active with the Choir and as a Cantor. He also enjoyed traveling throughout Europe with his wife, Barbara. Larry will be remembered as a source of constant support for his family and a man with many perspectives on any situation.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence A. Forgue, Sr. and Evelyn Anna Forgue, and his beloved wife of 50 years, Barbara C. Forgue.
Left to cherish his memory are his children; Michael Forgue, Timothy Forgue, Brian Forgue, Michele Forgue, Mary Dietrick (John), his grandchildren; Shantell Boyett (Ronnie), John Dietrick (Sarah), Jeremy Forgue, Barbara Dietrick, Bryce Forgue, Catherine Dietrick, Keaton Forgue, and his great-grandchildren Emma, Maggie, and Trey Boyett.

Barbara Catherine Forgue of Longwood, FL died peacefully on July 21, 2008. Barbara was born on November 27, 1937 in Maywood, IL, the daughter of Thomas O’Rourke and Grace Mulroyan. Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Lawrence A. Forgue, Jr.; her children, Michael, Timothy, Brian, Michele, and Mary; her grandchildren, Shantell, John, Jeremy, Barbara, Bryce, Catherine, and Keaton; and her great-granddaughter, Emma Grace. Barbara is also survived by her dear sister, Kathleen Mannebach and family, and her mother-in-law, Evelyn Forgue. Barbara graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in Elmhurst, IL. She then continued her studies at Elmhurst College. She then began her walk as wife and mother making Longwood their home for the past 35 years. During that time, she managed the retail business, Little Norway Shops, worked for Hair Systems and was employed by Orange County School Systems for ten years. She also enjoyed her many involvements at Annunciation Catholic Church through St. Joan of Arc Circle and the Religious Education Program. During retirement, Larry and Barbara enjoyed traveling to many countries. Her favorite and her heart is in Ireland.
Friends may call Thursday, July 24th from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home in Orange City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10AM at Annunciation Catholic Church at Altamonte Springs. Burial will be in Deltona Memorial Gardens in Orange City following Mass.
