Biography

Robert Allen Carr was born on 26 May 1949 in Carroll Co., MO. He died on 24 February 2023 in Independence, Jackson Co., MO,

Obituary -- (Findagrave.com):

Robert Allen Carr, age 73, of Bosworth, Missouri, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2023, at Centerpoint Medical Center, Independence, Missouri.

He was the son of Thomas Franklin and Anna Esteleen (Hancock) Carr, born on May 26, 1949, in Carrollton, Missouri.

Robert joined the United States Army on January 29, 1969, and was transferred into the United States Army Reserves on January 19, 1971. He earned the National Defense Service Medal, Sharpshooter M-14, and Expert M-16 before becoming disabled in an accident, and was honorably discharged on January 28, 1975.

Robert was never without the radio playing his favorite tunes, was very independent, and was someone who liked to be by himself. He enjoyed collecting tools and loved being outside and mowing with his Zero-turn mowers. Robert always took two lawnmowers with him when he was mowing; just in case he got stuck he could pull himself out with the other mower! He was meticulous in caring for his yard, equipment, and tools. Anytime someone would call Robert, they always knew he would answer with hey, hey, hey!

When Robert would show up at a friend's house to visit and found them working on a project, he was always willing to give advice and was given the title of "Inspector"! He will be missed by his many friends.

Robert is survived by T.J. Ikenberry and family of Bosworth, Missouri. He considered them family and spent nearly every holiday with them.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Anna Carr; and one sister, in infancy.

T.J. and his family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m., on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Bittiker Funeral Home, 1201 North 65 Highway, Carrollton, Missouri.

We will be led in procession by the Patriot Guard Riders and the Warriors' Watch Riders to the Graveside Service that will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Wharton Cemetery, Bosworth, Missouri.

Military Honors will be provided by Pence-Lovell-England Post #1773 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

In lieu of flowers please consider Wharton Cemetery. The contributions may be left at or mailed to Bittiker Funeral Home, P.O. Box 223, Carrollton, Missouri, 64633.

He was buried in March 2023 in Wharton Cemetery, Bosworth, Carroll Co., MO, Findagrave #250519354.
