Evelyn Lynne R. Aoki, 75, of Honolulu, former president of the Symphony Society of California and staffer at Frear Hall at the University of Hawaii, died Monday at home.

She is survived by husband Mitsuo; sons John, Rick, Walter and Reeves; daughter Christina; sister Beverly Politzer; and eight grandchildren.

Dr. John D. "Jack" Wagner of Carmel passed away peacefully on June 22, 2015 at Westland House. He was 95 years old.

He was born in Idaho on October 8, 1919. After graduating from the University of California Berkeley, he joined the army and achieved the rank of Captain during WWII while pursuing his dream of becoming a doctor. In 1948, he opened his practice on Main Street in Salinas and from there he formed the Salinas Valley Medical Group, which became a thriving practice in the Salinas Valley. Dr. Wagner was highly regarded not only for his medical expertise but also for his community involvement. He retired after a successful 50-year career in medicine.

Jack led a very full and active life. He was a great athlete and enjoyed a good game of tennis and golf. He mastered both with his talent, grace and charm. He also enjoyed hiking, fishing, hunting and scuba diving. He took great pride in growing a wide variety of orchids. He was a member of the Carmel Valley Racquet Club and Carmel Valley Ranch. He was not only generous with his time but also a generous supporter of the ASPCA and the American Cancer Society.

His sons, John D. Wagner Jr. and Reeves Wagner and also his grandson, Aaron Wagner, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Margard "Maggie", sons Richard (Andrea); Walter; daughter, Christina (Gary); stepsons Mark Anderson and Kurt (Daphna) Anderson; as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

At Jack's request, there will be no funeral service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

He was cremated.

DLB 2026. Camilla remarried to Gregory James Fish, apparently by 1993 when they first appear in public listings at the same address in San Jose. He and Camilla Candace Herrera were divorced in August 1979. He married Andrea Shirley Johnson in 1981; no trace of this marriage or person found in online genealogy listings. The first two of her children were listed at the same Torrance, California address as their father. They were still married in 2018 and listed as such in the obituary of Richard's step-mother Margard (Wahrer) Wagner. DLB 2026.

Aaron graduated from Salinas High School in 2012. He was a member of the Salinas High Swim and Water Polo Teams.
