Samuel Fuller1

M, b. 11 February 1637, d. before 28 December 1691
Note: The will of Matthew Fuller of Barnstable dated 20 July 1768 names "Daughter Anne Fuller the now wife of Samuel Fuller" and "son-in-law Samuell Fuller Junr."

Little is known of Samuel, though he appears to have spent his life in Barnstable. Inventory of the estate of Samuel Fuller late of Barnstable was taken 28 December 1691; it included no real estate. Two days later his sons Matthew, Barnabas, Joseph, and Benjamin quit-claimed to their sisters "Desire Fuller and Sarah Fuller Daughters of sd deceased of all their deceased mother's Apparrel." The 30 December 1691 letter of administration assigns custody of the estate of daughters Desire and Sarah Fuller to be kept until further order. This implies that these daughters were not of age.2

Samuel Fuller was born on 11 February 1637 at Scituate (probably), Plymouth Co., MA.1 He was the son of Samuel Fuller and Jane Lothrop.3,4 Samuel Fuller married Anne Fuller, daughter of Matthew Fuller and Frances (?), circa 1657 at Barnstable (probably), Barnstable Co., MA.1 Samuel Fuller died before 28 December 1691 at Barnstable, Barnstable Co., MA.1

Samuel Fuller was born circa 1608 at England (probably).1 He was the son of Edward Fuller.2
Note: After being left an orphan in the winter of 1620, shortly after arriving in Plymouth on the Mayflower, Samuel was brought up by his uncle, Dr. Samuel Fuller, the physician of the Pilgrims. Samuel was admitted a freeman in Plymouth Colony in 1634, moved to Scituate in 1635 where he built a house; he joined the Scituate church on 7 November 1636; and was elected constable there in 1641. Sometime later he moved to Barnstable, to which his father-in-law had moved in 1638. Samuel was the only Mayflower passenger to settle permanently in Barnstable and was one of the last surviving Mayflower passengers.3

William F. Fuller was also known as Fred W.2 He was born on 29 June 1854 at Watertown, Jefferson Co., NY, Death certificate gives age at death: 74 years, 8 months, 26 days. The 8 months would put the birth month at May, but the 1900 census clearly shows June. Probably this was a math error on the part of his son Charles and/or the person who prepared the certificate. William Harry Fuller1

M, b. 7 February 1890, d. 1962
William Harry Fuller was born on 7 February 1890 at Iowa. I am showing Willam as the son of Allen Fuller and Laura Chapman because he was likely the son of at least one of them, -- but he was born 5 years before their marriage. On the 1900 census, Laura was falsely listed as having been married for 10 years, when they were in fact married in 1895. The most likely explanation would appear to be that William was an illegitimate son of Laura, born out of wedlock, and took Allen Fuller's surname after the 1895 marriage. The most likely alternative explanation would be that Allen Fuller had a marriage or relationship that ended prior to his marriage to his cousin Laura Chapman, and William was from that earlier relationship. William appears to have been raised to adulthood by Laura, and he gave her name as his mother on his 1912 marriage license application -- he probably believed she was his mother, and I have discovered no evidence to the contrary. DLB 2020.1
