Jesse Fulkerson
Funeral for Jesse Fulkerson, 45, prominent farmer who lived near Fordtown, will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Kendricks Creek church with the Rev. Ray Rowland and the Rev. Fred Watson scheduled to officiate.
Mr. Fulkerson died Saturday night in the Holston Valley Community Hospital after a short illness. He had spent his entire life in the Fordtown community and for a number of years was employed at the Tennessee Eastman corporation until forced to resign because of ill health. He was a member of the Double Springs Baptist church.
Surviving are four sisters, Mrs. E. L. Boyd and Miss Stella Fulkerson of Plattsburg, Mo, Mrs. Ben Overbay of Fordtown, Mrs. Eugene Moore, Kingsport; one brother, Abe Fulkerson, Shenandoah, Iowa.

He was buried in December 1941 at Kendricks Creek Methodist Church Cemetery, Kingsport, Sullivan Co., TN.

Mamie Stella Fulkerson lived in April 1930 at Concord, Clinton Co., MO, Census p.5B, living with sister Elizabeth Boyd. She lived in April 1940 at Concord Twp., Clinton Co., MO, Census p.3A, living with sister Elizabeth Boyd.

Note: Stella's great-niece Angela Joan (Buchanan) Brown reports that Stella lived at Plattsburg, Clinton County, Missouri with her sister Lizzie and husband on their farm. (Stella is shown there on the 1930 census). Joan says that Stella was nice looking and took considerable time with personal grooming daily, even though she rarely left the farm.

Mrs. Ben Overbay, 52, died at 8 p.m. Tuesday at her home, Kingsport, Route 10.
She had spent her life in Sullivan County, and was a member of Rock Springs Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Ben Overbay; three sons, Daniel of Kingsport, Orville of Baltimore, Md., and Melvin of Kansas City, Kansas; one daughter, Mrs. Marvin Bach of Kingsport; one step-daughter, Mrs. Wade Sherfey of Columbus, Ohio; three sisters, Mrs. Ed Boyd, Miss Stella Fulkerson of Piottsburg, Mo., and Mrs. Rosalee Moore of Jonesboro; one brother, Abe Fulkerson of Iowa.
She was the former Maude Fulkerson, daughter of the late Thomas J. and Florence Devault Fulkerson of Sullivan County.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Kenderick's Creek methodist Church. The Rev. Kenner Baldwin, the Rev. Roland Light and the Rev. Elmer Adkins will officiate. Burial will be in Kenderick's Creek Cemetery.
The body was removed from Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home to the residence at 1 p.m. Wednesday.

She was buried in February 1956 at Kendrick's Creek Methodist Church Cemetery, Kendrick's Creek, Sullivan Co., TN.

     Note: Aaron Fuller was a cousin of his wife, Julia Ann Fuller, per affidavit in her Civil War pension record. Her illegitimate son John Fuller served and was killed in action at Atlanta in 1864, and she was sole surviving dependent.

Aaron Fuller was born on 26 March 1824 at New York Birth date calculated from age given in death record of 57 years, 6 months, 18 days. 1850 census (21 October) gives age as 28, which would put the birth year as late 1821 or early to mid-1822.1 He was the son of Josiah Fuller. Aaron Fuller married Julia Ann Fuller, daughter of Enoch Fuller and Karenhappuch Parmer/Palmer, in 1845 at Ashtabula Co., OH. Aaron Fuller died on 14 October 1881 at Ashtabula, Ashtabula Co., OH, at age 57.2

     Allen W. Fuller was also known as Albert; he was "Albert" in 1880 and 1900, then "Allan" in 1913 when he married Josie Vaughn, and thereafter.1 He was born in May 1870 at Oneida, Knox Co., IL, "Alla" was listed as a female on the 1870 census, one month old, with the annotation "May". Albert/Allen Fuller's relationship with his parents is best documented by his 1913 Iowa marriage record, where his parents are listed as "W. E. Fuller" and "Amanda Spence". Source: Iowa Select Marriages Index, 1758-1996, online at ancestry.com.2

He was the son of William Elmore Fuller and Amanda A. Spence.2 Allen W. Fuller married Laura Chapman, daughter of Grove L. Chapman and Caroline O. Fuller, on 3 October 1895 at Rock Island Co., IL, (Laura and Allen were first cousins -- Laura's mother Caroline was the sister of Allen's father William Fuller.) Allen W. Fuller lived on 27 June 1900 at Oneida, Knox Co., IL, painter, living in his father's household. Strangely, it shows his marital status "M", and for 10 years, although his wife Laura Chapman, who he had married in 1895, was living on the other side of the Mississippi River at Cedar County, Iowa.1 He lived in 1913 at Galesburg, Knox Co., IL, paper hanger, per marriage record. He married Josie Vaughn on 1 October 1913 at Walcott, Scott Co., IA. Allen W. Fuller lived on 26 February 1920 at Monmouth, Warren Co., IL, painter.3 He died on 27 January 1932 at Galesburg, Knox Co., IL, at age 61.

Arrie Jane Fuller was born in Saybrook, Ohio, on Feb. 27, 1862, the only daughter of Josiah and Caroline Fuller. On April 7, 1884, she was married to Adelbert A. Fox at Kingsville, Ohio, and resided near Kingsville until 1898 when they moved to Michigan. To this union wsa born six sons; Dr. J. A., of Wingham, Ontario; George W., of Battle Creek; Charles D., at home, and A. Roy, Edwin L., and Marion A., of Athens. These boys were her pride and joy and she devoted her whole life to them and to her husband. On July 13, this year, she had the misfortune to fall and break her hip, and although no effort was spared to save her, the shock was too great, and she passed away on August 4, with her husband and five of her beloved sons at the bedside. She leaves to mourn her passing, her loving husband, her six sons, seven grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the home Saturday afternoon, with the Rev. W. W. Gadd in charge. Burial in Burr Oak cemetery.

She was buried in August 1938 at Burr Oak Cemetery, Athens, Calhoun Co., MI, Findagrave #84156907.

Fuller and Charlotte Post. Benjamin Fuller married Anna Hewitt.4 Benjamin Fuller lived in August 1850 at Lyme, Jefferson Co., NY, laborer, apparently recently married to the 19-year old Ann. He lived adjaced to a blacksmith who also had a son and another employee in his shop and living in his household, and considering Benjamin's later profession, he was probably an apprentice or employee there.
