Pearl H. French 75, died of a heart attack at his home at 418 South Ransom street at 6:00 p.m. Monday. He had suffered from a heart condition for several years.
Mr. French had been an employee of John Morrell & Co. for 46 years prior to his retirement. He had also been a resident of Ottumwa for 46 years.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Johnson funeral chapel. Burial will be in Chisman cemetery West of Ottumwa.

Wallace Frettinger
Wallace Frettinger, 77, formerly of 522 Shultz St., died at 4:40 a.m. Sunday in Veteran's Administration Hospital, Marion. He was born Oct. 29, 1906, in Kentland, to Thomas and Mae Frettinger. He was married Dec. 16, 1942, to Bernadine E. Moore, who survives.
He was a retired Penn Central trainman. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus. Surviving are a son, Robert, Logansport; a daughter, Bonnie Villa, Glens Falls, N.Y; two sisters, Everril Paradis, Lakewood, N.J., and Pauline Flannery, Palm Springs, Calif; and two grandchildren.
A daughter and a sister preceded in death.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Fred Schroeder officiating. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

Wallace Frettinger
Wallace Frettinger, 77, formerly of 522 Shultz St., died at 4:40 a.m. Sunday in Veteran's Administration Hospital, Marion. He was born Oct. 29, 1906, in Kentland, to Thomas and Mae Frettinger. He was married Dec. 16, 1942, to Bernadine E. Moore, who survives.
He was a retired Penn Central trainman. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus. Surviving are a son, Robert, Logansport; a daughter, Bonnie Villa, Glens Falls, N.Y; two sisters, Everril Paradis, Lakewood, N.J., and Pauline Flannery, Palm Springs, Calif; and two grandchildren.
A daughter and a sister preceded in death.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Fred Schroeder officiating. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
