George Michael Greenwald married Pauline Ione Westerfield, daughter of Adolph Marion Westerfield and Evelyn Coon, on 21 May 1940 at Davenport Co., IA, The Iowa marriage record indicates this was the second marriage for George and the first for Pauline. This marriage may have been very brief -- when George registered for the draft in October, 1940, he gave for his next of kin his sister, Bernice Ryan. Pauline remarried to Robert T. Loughran prior to 1954, when she divorced him.

George Michael Greenwald died after 16 October 1940. He and Pauline Ione Westerfield were divorced; Assume a divorce occurred shortly after the marriage, as George listed his sister Bernice Ryan as his next of kin on his October, 1940 draft registration.
