     Sarah Ann Garrett was born on 16 April 1824 at Washington Co., OH.¹ She married Samuel Preston in 1844. Sarah Ann Garrett died on 8 September 1896 at Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co., IL, at age 72

SARAH ANN (GARRETT) PRESTON was born in Barlow Township, Washington County, Ohio April 16, 1824, and removed with her parents in 1838 to Bureau County, Ill., and there December 11, 1844 became united in marriage with Samuel Preston. Their children consist of one son and four daughters, all married and present at this funeral, except Harriet Aurilla, whose home is in Boulder, Montana.

Mrs. Preston became religious early in life, and in 1854 united with the M. E. church in Mount Carroll. She was an ardent prohibitionist in its fullest sense, carrying out its principles by practice; and in religion and politics had decided opinions which she was fearless to express. For many years she had throat trouble, which made it difficult for her to swallow substantial food, causing her body to be much emaciated and the vital spark to slowly fade away September 8, 1896.

The funeral occurred Friday afternoon, services being conducted at the house by the Rev. J. P. Philips. A quartette of singers from Mt. Carroll beautifully sung appropriate hymns. The attendance was large both at the home and cemetery, testifying to the high esteem in which Mrs. Preston was held by those who knew her, and an expression of sympathy with Mr. Preston and family. Rev. J. P. Philips has been called upon to preach the funeral sermons of three members of his church in the last three weeks: Mrs. Samuel Preston, Grandma Kenyon and O. P. Miles.

     William Richard Garrett was born on 27 September 1908 at Madison Co., IN.¹ He was the son of Charles Leroy Garrett and Etta Fern Williams.¹ William Richard Garrett married Eva Mary Robbins. William Richard Garrett died in 2002 at Ohio.

     Wilma E. Garrett was born in 1931 at Butler Co., OH. She was the daughter of Charles Leroy Garrett and Etta Fern Williams. Wilma E. Garrett married (?) Bailey, three children. Wilma E. Garrett died in 2006 at Kentucky.

     Julius S. Garriga was born on 28 September 1913 at Weehawken, NJ. He was the son of Salvador Garriga and Hulda Boettner. Julius S. Garriga married Marguerite Anna Smith, daughter of Clyde John Smith and Ann Margaret Longbottom, on 24 June 1939 at Warrenton, VA.

     Chloe A. Garringer was born in June 1897 at Jefferson Twp., Fayette Co., OH.^2,1 She was the daughter of David Adam Garringer and Dora Long.¹

     Cyrenne Marie Garringer was born on 10 January 1874. She was the daughter of Thomas Benton Garringer and Melissa Anna Catherina Parrett. Cyrenne Marie Garringer married Harry B. Davis on 6 November 1895 at Fayette Co., OH. Cyrenne Marie Garringer died on 28 January 1942 at age 68.

     David Garringer was born on 25 October 1803 at Martinsburg, Berkeley Co., Virginia (now WV). He married Cyrene Marie Yeoman on 28 September 1825 at Fayette Co., OH. David Garringer died on 17 September 1869 at Fayette Co., OH, at age 65. He was buried in September 1869 at Rock Mills Cemetery on Miami Trace Road, Wayne Twp., Fayette Co., OH.

     David Adam Garringer was born on 5 February 1873 at Fayette Co., OH, 1900 census shows year 1872, but gives age 27 -- most likely the birth was after the parents marriage.¹ He was the son of Thomas Benton Garringer and Melissa Anna Catherina Parrett. David Adam Garringer married Dora Long, daughter of William Long and Mary A. (?), circa 1894 at Fayette Co. (probably), OH, eight children born, five living as of 1910 census (one had died before the 1900 census.)^1,2 David Adam Garringer lived in 1920 at a farm on Washington-Jamestown Road, Jefferson Twp., Fayette Co., OH.³ He died on 6 January 1952 at age 78.

     Janette Marie Garringer was also known as "Nettie". She was born on 10 July 1877 at Fayette Co., OH. She was the daughter of Thomas Benton Garringer and Melissa Anna Catherina Parrett. Janette Marie Garringer married Thurman W. Plummer on 2 April 1913 at Fayette Co., OH. Janette Marie Garringer died on 31 August 1961 at age 84.

     Lurline Garringer was born circa 1907 at Jefferson Twp., Fayette Co., OH.¹ She was the daughter of David Adam Garringer and Dora Long.¹

     Maude Marie Garringer was born on 26 September 1880 at Fayette Co., OH. She was the daughter of Thomas Benton Garringer and Melissa Anna Catherina Parrett. Maude Marie Garringer married Jesse F. Blackmore on 12 February 1908 at Fayette Co., OH. Maude Marie Garringer died in May 1955 at age 74. She was buried in May 1955 at Bloomingburg Cemetery, Fayette Co., OH.

     Minnie Marie Garringer was born on 21 August 1875 at Fayette Co., OH. She was the daughter of Thomas Benton Garringer and Melissa Anna Catherina Parrett. Minnie Marie Garringer married Edgar Coil on 20 June 1900 at Fayette Co., OH. Minnie Marie Garringer died on 22 August 1961 at age 86.

     Neil Francis Garringer was born on 10 November 1913 at Jefferson Twp., Fayette Co., OH.¹ He was the son of David Adam Garringer and Dora Long.¹ Neil Francis Garringer married Marguerite Lukens. Neil Francis Garringer died on 24 January 2000 at Washington Court House, Fayette Co., OH, at age 86.

     Thomas Benton Garringer was born on 14 October 1841 at Fayette Co., OH. He was the son of David Garringer and Cyrene Marie Yeoman. Thomas Benton Garringer married Melissa Anna Catherina Parrett, daughter of Augustus Frederick Parrett and Caroline Hess, on 22 October 1872. Thomas Benton Garringer died on 14 September 1921 at age 79.

     Ambrose Asbury Garriott was born on 25 February 1813 at Washington Co., IN. He married Sarah Payne, daughter of Jeremiah H. Payne and Sarah McCoy, on 29 December 1836 at Washington Co., IN. Ambrose Asbury Garriott died on 31 July 1894 at Washington Co., IN, at age 81.

     John Milton Garriott was born on 23 March 1841 at Clark Co., IN. He married Mary Bashie Cohorn. John Milton Garriott died on 23 February 1902 at Half Rock, Mercer Co., MO, at age 60. He was buried in February 1902 at Half Rock Cemetery, Half Rock, Mercer Co., MO, Findagrave #10884319.

     Lucy Catherine Garriott was born on 13 December 1880 at Half Rock, Mercer Co., MO. She was the daughter of John Milton Garriott and Mary Bashie Cohorn. Lucy Catherine Garriott married Oran Alfred Snapp, son of Samuel Roach Snapp and Sarah Ann Hulse, in 1898. Lucy Catherine Garriott died on 19 February 1908 at Mercer Co., MO, at age 27. She was buried in February 1908 at Half Rock Cemetery, Half Rock, Mercer Co., MO, Findagrave #70791807.

     Mary Nolia Garriott was born on 21 September 1875 at Washington Co., IN. She was the daughter of James Asbury Garriott and Sarah Virginia Long. Mary Nolia Garriott married Daniel Washington Still, son of Matthew Simpson Still and Mary Jane Dawalt, on 22 November 1896 at Washington Co., IN. Mary Nolia Garriott died on 24 January 1921 at Jefferson Co., KY, at age 45.
