She was born April 18, 1923 in Danville to Elmer Stewart and Aulta Bernice Keist Garrison. She married Donald Ray Clippinger on March 14, 1940 in Danville. He preceded her March 10, 1976. She was also preceded by her parents; her daughter, Diane Reeves; two sisters, June and Marcia and three brothers, Verneal, Merle and Robert.

Survivors include two sons, Steven (Kathy) Clippinger and Kurt (Tina) Clippinger; a daughter, Robin (Jerry) Sims; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bunky and Russell and five sisters, Zella, Judy, Carol, Nancy and Sherry.

She attended Oakwood High School. She had worked for the Glass Pitcher, H.K. Porter, Mel's IGA and the Holland Restaurant.

At the residence of the bride's father, T. C. Garst, 1902 West Douglas avenue, at 8 o'clock Wednesday evening, occurred the marriage of his eldest daughter, Anna M. Garst, to Fred N. McConnell.

Immediately after the simple and impressive service said by their pastor, J. Edwin Jones, of the West Wichita Church of the Brethren, they went to their new cottage which has just been completed at 250 North Martinson avenue.

Mrs. McConnell is well known in Wichita, especially in church circles. For a number of years she has been a successful leader in various church activities among the children.

Mr. McConnell is a successful contractor who has lived in West Wichita for a number of years. He is the chorister of the West Wichita Church of the Brethren.

Mother of Three Brothers Who Trained Together in Air Corps Dies at 58

ONE SON WAS KILLED

Mrs. Anna Mary McConnell, 58, mother of the three McConnell brothers who enlisted in the United States army air corps at the same time, trained together and fought together in the South Pacific, died Sunday in a local hospital after a short illness. She resided at 246 North Martinson.

The three sons are Lieut. Fred J. McConnell, Lieut. Edwin M. McConnell and Lieut. Thomas McConnell, who was killed in action last July.

Mrs. McConnell was born in Jonesbury (sic), Tenn., December 16, 1885. She was a member of the Church of the Brethren.

Surviving, besides her two sons in the service, are two sons, Wyman L. and Dwight, both of Los Angeles; four daughters, Mrs. M. L. Harris, residing in Arizona, Mrs. Lester Pickover, 236 South Florence, Miss Faye McConnell and Mrs. Ruth Foster, Pasadena, Cal; two sisters, Miss Julia Garst, 246 North Martinson, and Mrs. Pearl Herrmann, Oklahoma City; three brothers, Paul C. Garst, Pratt, T.C. Garst, Jr., 1902 West Douglas, and Jess Garst, Route 8, Wichita.

Funeral services will be held in the Downing mortuary at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Highland cemetery.

She was buried in February 1944 at Highland Cemetery, Wichita, Sedgwick Co., KS, Findagrave #23813586.
