Obituary -- (Findagrave.com):

THE CEDAR RAPIDS GAZETTE, Thursday, April 11, 2013

Annabell Mae HARGER Weaver, 85, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, April 9, 2013, surrounded by most of her family, after a 2-year battle with cancer at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, IA. Memorial services will be 11am Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, conducted by the Rev. Stasia Fine of New Disciples Christian Church, Cedar Rapids. The family will greet friends from 4pm to 8pm, Friday, April 12, at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in the Linwood Cemetery Mausoleum, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Allen Neale Weaver, Sr; three sons, Allen Neale (Robyn) Weaver, Jr. and Arthur (Susan) Weaver, both of Cedar Rapids, and Andy Weaver of San Diego; two daughters, Annette WEAVER and her boyfriend, Patrick Nolan, of St. Louis, and Amy WEAVER of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren, Paige HENDERSON Bauer, Kim WEAVER Roudabush and her husband Mike, Alexia WEAVER, Sydney WEAVER, Corey Vanderburgh, and Cara VANDERBURGH; and two great-grandchildren, Jake and Lexi Roudabush.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her paternal grandparents, George Washington Harger II and Sara Ella BARR Harger; her maternal grandmother, Deborah Helen WILT Johnson, widow of Robert Elson Johnson; three brothers, Orland Harger, Harold Harger, and Verle Harger; grandson, Bret Allen Weaver; and a great-grandson, Derek Alan Weaver Box.

Annabell was born May 14, 1927, in her parents' home in Cedar Rapids, daughter of Grover Dale and Nellie Mabel JOHNSON Harger. Her family moved from Cedar Rapids to Urbana, Iowa, in 1929. Later the family moved to a farm south of Urbana, where she spent her adolescent years. The family would eventually move back to Cedar Rapids, where she graduated from Wilson High School in 1944.

Annabell met Neale Weaver after he returned from Europe following the end of World War II. They married Feb. 9, 1946 in Cedar Christian Church, and were happily married for 67 years. Annabell retired from the workforce in 1986 from RFK Transportation where she worked in the office. She was a lifelong member of Cedar Christian Church, now called New Disciples Christian Church.

Her family was her life. Annabell followed two guiding philosophies through her life: spiritually she received great comfort knowing that Christ is her Savior; and socially - she believed that if you were always kind to the people you meet in your life they would in turn be kind to you.

Annabell, whom Neale and some friends called Ann, did many unique and interesting things during her life. One of the most unique projects she undertook in the last years of her life was to write a book telling the story of her early life as a child growing up on a farm during the Great Depression. She told about walking a mile on clay-surfaced roads to get to a one room school house. She described how her family grew and raised their food from the land they lived on. Annabell spent several years researching dates, collecting photos, and writing script to complete the telling of her early life story. She completed the book in the fall of 2012 and presented the bound final work to her family at Christmas 2012.

The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to their cousin Joann HARGER Bender, RN (Harold's daughter) for helping her aunt through this difficult period.

A memorial fund has been established in Annabell's memory.

She was buried in April 2013 at Murdoch-Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, Linn Co., IA, Findagrave #108328670.

Two San Mateo Sisters Die After R. C. Traffic Accident
A luncheon outing ended tragically yesterday when two elderly San Mateo sisters were fatally injured in a Redwood City traffic acident.
Mrs. Daisy Summers, 83 and her sister, Mrs. Bertha Hargett, 79, both of 1510 Lorraine Avenue in San Mateo, died early today at Kaiser Hospital, Redwood City, of internal injuries suffered in the crash.
A third sister, Mrs. Nona Darnall, 81 also of the same address, was seriously injured and is reported in fair condition at Mills Memorial Hospital. Also injured was Mrs. Dora Sherer, 55, 438 Cavanaugh Street, San Mateo, and Mrs. Shirley A. Morrris, 59 1121 Juanita Avenue, Burlingame. Mrs. Sherer is in fair condition at Mills Hospital with a head injury. Mrs. Morris was treated for cuts at Kaiser Hospital. The accident occurred at 12:20 p. m. at the intersection of Woodside Expressway and Broadway when a car driven by Mrs. Morris made a left turn from the center eastbound lane of the expressway and was sruck by an oncoming pickup truck driven by Laurence O. Clark, 36, a Castro Valley cabinet maker.
Policemen Pete McDonald and Vincent Truscelli said that Mrs. Morris apparently became confused by the traffic signal arrow and made the left turn from the optional center lane while the arrow was showing green for straight ahead traffic only.
Police say the arrow system which sometimes permits a left turn from the center lane, poses a safety hazard at the intersetion with drivers not only making left turns on the straight ahead arrow, but stopping on the green arrow to wait for the left turn arrow. The signal system was installed by the state and is maintained by the division of highways.
Lucheon-bound
Mrs. Morris told the police officers that she was making the turn onto Broadway with the intention of going to a nearby restaurant where the the women intended to have lunch.
Mrs. Hargett is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Velma Heinrich, of 627 Vera Avenue, Redwood City.

He was buried in December 1959 at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park, Colma, San Mateo Co., CA, Findagrave #87831595.
