Joe enjoyed serving community and church. He was an active member of Saint Barnabas Episcopal Church, Pedernales Creative Arts Alliance, The Former Texas Rangers Foundation, and Curator of Gish's Old West Museum.
He was buried in July 2011 at Saint Barnabas Episcopal Columbarium, Fredericksburg, Gillespie Co., TX, Findagrave #76254543.
