     Elmer F. Gookins was born on 1 July 1917 at Zanesville, Muskingum Co., OH. He was the son of Carl Gookins and Lelia Leona Owens. Elmer F. Gookins died on 13 July 1983 at Zanesville, Muskingum Co., OH, at age 66.

     Pauline Isabelle Gookins was born on 28 October 1911 at Ohio. She was the daughter of Carl Gookins and Lelia Leona Owens. Pauline Isabelle Gookins married Raymond George Dingey. Pauline Isabelle Gookins died on 14 March 1997 at Ohio at age 85.

     Ruth Eleanor Gookins married Virgil Donalson. Ruth Eleanor Gookins was born on 23 December 1919 at Zanesville, Muskingum Co., OH. She was the daughter of Carl Gookins and Lelia Leona Owens. Ruth Eleanor Gookins died on 25 November 1994 at New Philadelphia, Tuscarawas Co., OH, at age 74.

     John William Goolsby was born on 30 November 1906 at Bay City, Matagorda Co., TX. He married Annie Edith Everett, daughter of Carl Stover Everett and Annie Smith, on 28 April 1934 at Denver, Arapahoe Co., CO. John William Goolsby lived on 2 April 1940 at 625 East First Avenue, Denver, Denver Co., CO, locomotive fireman, steam railroad.¹ He died on 12 April 1958 at Jefferson, Marengo Co., AL, at age 51.      Belle Goon was born in January 1877. She was the daughter of Elias Goon and Jane (?) Belle Goon married Henry Ulysses G. Huppert, son of Jacob Huppert and Susan Templin, on 26 February 1896.

     Beulah Mae Goosby was born on 15 June 1906 at Lincoln Co., TN. She married John Wesley Stewman on 24 December 1924 at Lincoln Co., TN. Beulah Mae Goosby died on 20 July 2003 at Columbia, Maury Co., TN, at age 97. She was buried in July 2003 at Polk Memorial Gardens, Columbia, Maury Co., TN, Findagrave #159425475.

     Alice Cary Gordon was born in 1878. She married Francis Marion Thompson, son of David McGowan Thompson and Eliza Jane Wyscarver, on 24 November 1904.

Our precious wife, mother and grandmother, Carol Jean England, passed away on January 23, 2010. Born in Oklahoma City, April 24, 1927, she graduated summa cum laude from Capitol Hill High School in 1945. Carol married Bill England in 1950, who was her lifelong sweetheart. She worked at Mutual Federal S&L, retiring in 1992. Her parents brought her to Wilmont Place Baptist Church as a baby, and ,after making a profession of faith, she was a member there until her death. She held many positions of leadership at Wilmont, one of her favorites being Cradle Roll. Loving reading, she joined the church library staff and became its leader for over 40 years. In 1998, seeing the need for young people to memorize scripture, she started Bible Drill. Carol loved giving gifts. She received great joy by giving away handmade items to family and friends.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Alberta Gordon; sister-in-law, Reba Gordon; daughter-in-law, Deanna England and grandson, Jay Trusley.

Survivors include her husband of almost 60 years, Bill England; daughters: Tricia and Mark Meacham; Cindy and Greg Dean; Jana and Max Burgess; Marsha and Larry Brooks; son, Charles England; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and her brother, Malcolm Gordon. She was greatly loved, and we miss her. Viewing will be 4-8 PM today. Services will be 10 AM, Wed., Jan. 27, 2010, at Wilmont Place Baptist Church, 6440 S. Santa Fe. Windle, son of Abraham Wendel and Mary Ann Brubeck, in 1868, Franklin County, Ohio, Marriage Records, Vol.10, page 389. Clara C. Gordon died before March 1895 at Kansas or Nebraska (probably) Clara was not in family as of the 1895 census of Brown County, Kansas.

     Cornelia Gordon was born on 19 September 1845.¹ She was the daughter of Jeremiah Gordon and Susan Snively. Cornelia Gordon married John Price, son of John Price and Catherine Bear, at Shady Grove, Franklin Co., PA, Ceremony by Rev. Whiteman.¹

     Dora May Gordon was born on 4 October 1865 at Greene Co., OH.¹ She was the daughter of Eli Gordon and Sarah Jane Smith. Dora May Gordon married Charles M. Williams. Dora May Gordon married William W. Wood circa 1901, Dora showed three children born, two living as of the 1910 census. Since sons Orville Williams and Cleaphus Woods were in the household, the third and deceased child was daughter Lavada.² Dora May Gordon died on 20 September 1945 at Jamestown, Greene Co., OH, at age 79.

     Eli Gordon was born in August 1833 at Bethel Twp., Clark Co., OH.^1,2 He was the son of John Gordon Sr. and Mary Waggoner.³ Eli Gordon married Sarah Jane Smith, daughter of Milan Lewis Smith and Mahala Armstrong, on 22 December 1864 at Fayette Co., OH. Eli Gordon died on 6 January 1916 at Jefferson Twp., Fayette Co., OH, at age 82.

     Ernest Harrison Gordon was born on 17 June 1897 at Cawker City, Mitchell Co., KS. He was the son of John A. Gordon and Clarissa Shepherd. Ernest Harrison Gordon married Alberta Josephine Nesbitt, daughter of Homer Eugene Nesbitt and Clara Belle Taylor, on 23 April 1924 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Co., OK. Ernest Harrison Gordon died on 16 February 1967 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Co., OK, at age 69. He was buried in February 1967 at Sunny Lane Cemetery, Del City, Oklahoma Co., OK.

     Etta Jane Gordon was born on 29 May 1886 at Rowley, Buchanan Co., IA. She was the daughter of George W. Gordon and Margaret Alice Messingham. Etta Jane Gordon married Wilbur Ellsworth Tallman, son of Wilbur Ellsworth Tallman and Mary Delilah Merritt, on 17 February 1909. Etta Jane Gordon died on 19 June 1918 at Anamosa, Jones Co., IA, at age 32

The funeral of Mrs. Etta Gordon Tallman was held at the United Brethren church, last Friday afternoon, the services being conducted by Rev. C. Dillavan, and interment was made in the Olin cemetery. Mrs. Tallman was only 32 years of age. She is survived by her husband, Ellsworth Tallman, and two little boys. She is also survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Gordon, a sister, Mrs. Adah Rorah, and a brother, John Gordon.

She was buried in June 1918 at Olin Cemetery, Olin, Jones Co., IA, Findagrave #54551664.

     Eva M. Gordon was born in July 1882 at Michigan.¹ She was the daughter of Silas Gordon and Emma Frances Clement.¹ Eva M. Gordon married James L. Gere, son of John Franklin Gere and Louise Virginia Blue, on 31 August 1899, Four children born, all living as of the 1910 census.²

     George W. Gordon married Margaret Alice Messingham.
