Margaret Hawkins was born circa 1818 at Knox or Licking Co., OH.1,2 She was the daughter of Joseph Hawkins and Sarah Larimore. Margaret Hawkins married Almon Mitchell, son of Lt. Sylvenus Mitchell and Betsey Knox, in 1835, Not sure about this case -- Alan Bunner reported that a marriage record exists in West Virginia, but 1880 census, Milford Twp., Knox Co. indicates birth location in Rhode Island, for Margaret, and Massachusetts, for Almon. However the Knox County location is consistent with other Larimore descendants migration from the Three Churches area. See 1880 census for Milford Twp., Knox Co., p.79B. She was living in 1900 and that census gives the same birth location. Also see 1850 Milford Twp., Knox Co., dwelling 205 on p.28.

She was always glad to testify to her hope in Christ Jesus, and in so far as she was able, she lived a consecrated life. During her last years, she was afflicted in both mind and body. These afflications and circumstances which did not exist and brought great trouble and worry to those whom she loved dearly. But when she was normal, she was a kind wife, a loving mother, and a good neighbor.
She and Mr. Brown have reared a large family of good and useful citizens. Two of their sons have been into the service of their country.
The mother was very much worried when her baby son was called into the Army and said, " I will never live to see him come any more to stay." She must have been warned of this, for Ona J. is still in service.
