KATE L. HENDRICKS wife of Lewis C. Hendricks, died at her residence near this place on Wednesday morning, at 7:30 o'clock, of cancer of the stomach. Mrs. Hendricks, whose maiden name was Herold, was born in New York state about 45 years ago. Came here with her parents in 1857, and was married to Mr. Hendricks in 1863. She united with the M. E. church a number of years ago and lived an exemplary christian life, beloved by a large circle of friends. She leaves a husband and four children to mourn a loss irreparable. The funeral was held on Thursday afternoon, Rev. Satterfield of Franklin Grove, officiating, and neighbors and friends in large numbers were present to pay a last tribute of respect to her memory.
