     Josephine Herbison was born in January 1899 at Yonkers (probably), Westchester Co., NY.^1,2 She was the daughter of William Herbison and Emma Bollenbacher.¹ Josephine Herbison married Peter Neff, son of Jacob Neff and Mary Anna (?), circa 1922.³

     Phoebe Herbison was born in April 1887 at Greater New York City, NY.¹ She was the daughter of William Herbison and Emma Bollenbacher.¹

     Ralph Herbison was born circa March 1919 at New York.¹ He was the son of John Herbison and Mabel C. (?)¹

     William Herbison was born in January 1845 at New York.¹ He married Emma Bollenbacher, daughter of Jacob Bollenbacher and Philippina Munzinger, in March 1885 at Greater New York City, NY, 10 children born, 7 living, as per 1900 census. Three were born to the first marriage, one died. Apparently two died from the second marriage before 1900.

In 1910 she reported 7 children born, 7 living.^1,2

Third Avenue, Mt. Vernon, Westchester Co., NY, Census indicates "Married" but he has only two boarders in the household. Suspect the Gertrude Herbison, age 29, living in the household of John Werner (probably her father) was the wife of William Werner, and the daughter of Gertrude, Gertrude K. Herbison, was his daughter.²

     Lillian Herman was born on 16 November 1913 at Columbiana Co., OH.¹ She was the daughter of Edward Herman and Mildred Ethel Fosnacht.¹ Lillian Herman married Harry Edward Weikart, son of Wilbert Curtis Weikart and Grace Roller, on 5 June 1937 at Columbiana Co., OH. Columbiana – March 16, 2008 – Lillian Weikart, 94, of 337 West Salem Street, formerly of Leetonia, died at 3:29 a.m. Sunday at the Salem Community Hospital.

Mrs. Weikart was born November 16, 1913 in Washingtonville, a daughter of Edward and Mildred Fosnacht Herman and had lived in this area all of her life.

She had been employed as a cashier at the former A & P in Columbiana. She had also worked in the office at the former Franklin Furniture and the former Salem China. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Leetonia where worked on many church projects. In later years, she volunteered with the RSVP program in Lisbon and also at the Columbiana Public Library.

She was preceded in death on April 1, 1991 by her husband, Harry E. Weikart, whom she married June 5, 1937; and three sisters, Myrna Bruderly, Audrey Schaefer, and Leila Eastek.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. James (Carol) Meissner of Columbiana; two grandsons, Dana (Abby) Meissner of Wexford, PA and Jim (Joy) Meissner of Canfield; and four great grandchildren, Ben and Carter Meissner of Wexford, PA and Julia and Jessica Meissner of Canfield.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia with Pastor Kari Lankford and Pastor William Wilkins officiating. Burial will follow in Columbiana Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday and one hour prior to the services on Wednesday.

If friends desire, material tributes may take the form of a donation to either the church memorial fund or the Columbiana Public Library.

     Ludwig W. Herman was born in December 1839 at Germany.¹ He married Mary Elizabeth Rhine, daughter of James Rhine and Rebecca Loves Vore, on 22 May 1879 at Otter Creek, Tama Co., IA, four children born, three living as of the 1900 census.¹ Ludwig W. Herman lived on 28 June 1900 at Otter Creek Twp., Tama Co., IA, farming.¹

     Michael James Herman Jr. was born on 14 February 1968 at Binghamton, Broome Co., NY. He died on 18 May 1992 at age 24. He was buried in May 1992 at Greenlawn Cemetery, Milford, Clermont Co., OH.
