A very pleasant day was spent last Thursday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lebert Payne when their eldest son Kenneth O. Payne brought home his bride, Mrs. Estelle Anderson Payne. The bride and groom arrived just before the noon hour. The bride was beautifully attired in a white georgette dress. The groom wore a blue serge suit. A long table was spread in the yard, decorated with bouquets of ferns and June roses and covered to the utmost with all kinds of good eats.

ESTELLA ANDERSON WILLIAMS
Estella Mae Anderson Williams, widow of Orville Williams, passed away Sunday morning, November 3, 1974 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital, after a long illness.
She was born February 8, 1901, daughter of William F. and Annis Floyd Anderson of Franklin Township, Washington County, Indiana. She attended the Hickory Grove school and became a member of the Church of Christ at Cross Roads, later transferring her membership to Salem.
During the war years she was a government employee at Charlestown.
On September 18, 1947 she was married to Orville Williams and lived at the farm home north of Salem until her husband’s death in 1964. At that time she established a home of her own in Salem until failing health caused her to reside with her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Walker. For the past two years she was cared for at the Williams Convalescent Center, and given the devoted attention of her family.
She is survived by a daughter, Virginia Atkins, with her husband, Norman and two sons, Barry and Mark, of Lexington Ky; two brothers, Everett Anderson and wife Sylvia, and Glenn Anderson and wife Helen, of Salem; and two sisters, Effie Spurgeon of Dania, Florida; and Hazel Walker and husband Walter of Salem; also many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Thou hast gone, O precious loved one,
O’er the dark and chilly tide;
In the house of many mansions,
With the blest thou dost abide.
We shall meet thee in the morning,
When all gloom has passed away;
Where good-bye is never spoken,
We’ll rejoice with thee for aye.
Funeral services were held at the Dawalt Funeral home on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 2:00 P.M., conducted by Bro. Earl Mullins of the Highway Church at Pekin, with burial in the Olive Branch Cemetery, near her parents.
Pallbearers were Mark and Barry Adkins, Odessa Jackson, William Anderson, Max Anderson and Manson McKinley.
She was buried in November 1974 at Olive Branch Cemetery, Polk Twp., Washington Co., IN.

Gene L. Anderson was born on 23 August 1926 at Cooperstown, Griggs Co., ND.1 He was the son of Torkel Anderson and Agnes Olson.1 Gene L. Anderson began military service on 30 December 1944 at Fort Lewis, Washington, WW II service, Enlisted. He married Thelma Lorrane DeVault, daughter of Walter Nelson DeVault and Nellie May Blackwell, on 23 December 1952 at Vancouver, Clark Co., WA. Gene L. Anderson died on 20 November 2016 at Washington at age 90 Final arrangements by Strate Funeral Home.
