     Samuel Holloway was born on 29 March 1844 at Schuyler Co., MO.¹ He was the son of George Holloway and Sophia Vee Truitt.² Samuel Holloway began military service Civil War, Union Army, Co. "K", 44th Missouri Volunteer Infantry. He married Amanda Jane Snodgrass on 18 January 1872 at Polk Co., IA. Samuel Holloway lived on 30 June 1880 at Webster Twp., Polk Co., IA, Farm laborer.¹ He died on 28 April 1928 at Linden, Dallas Co., IA, at age 84

OBITUARY--Dallas County News--Adel, Iowa--Wednesday 09 MAY 1928

Samuel Holloway of Linden an old soldier, was laid to rest last Sunday
afternoon at Linden, with a fitting military funeral to repay the respect for
the service that he had rendered his country during the Civil war, when he
served in Company K, of the 44th Infantry Volunteers from Missouri, and was
honorably discharged at St. Louis in March, 1865.

The services were conducted at the M.E. church in Linden at two o'clock Sunday
afternoon with Rev. J.H. Nightingale delivering an appropriate address, which
was followed by the ritualistic G.A.R. services, conducted by six surviving
comrades who also acted as honorary pall bearers with six sons of veterans as
pall bearers.

The escort was headed by the Drum corps and followed by a number of American
Legion members, who closed he service a the West Linn cemetery with a military
salute and taps by the bugler.

Samuel Holloway, son of George W. and Sophia Holloway, was born in Schuyler
County, Missouri, March 29, 1844, and departed this life at his home in
Linden, April 28, 1928, aged 84 years and 27 days.

December 18, 1871, he was united in marriage to Amanda J. Snodgrass. To this
union was born seven children, Chas. T. of Medford, Oregon; Charlotte C.
Howell of Scotts Bluff, Nebraska; William L. of San Diego, California; Nettie
Hess of Linden; Bessie Borst of Bagley; Margaret and Gary preceeded him in
death.

     Sarah Lyne Holloway was born on 13 May 1807. She was the daughter of Maj. John Holloway and Anne Starling. Sarah Lyne Holloway married William J. Marshall, son of Col. William Marshall, on 6 January 1825.¹ Sarah Lyne Holloway married James Muse Taylor on 11 January 1838.¹ Sarah Lyne Holloway died on 30 August 1854 at age 47.

     William Read Holloway was born on 27 December 1849 at Henderson, Henderson Co., KY.² He was the son of William Starling Holloway and Mary S. Hillyer. William Read Holloway lived on 9 June 1880 at Broadway Street, Paducah, McCracken Co., KY, boarding with the John Gaines family, clerk in shoe store.³

     William Starling Holloway was born on 15 September 1812 at Kentucky.² He was the son of Maj. John Holloway and Anne Starling. William Starling Holloway married Mary S. Hillyer, daughter of James Hillyer and Mary Hart, on 18 February 1834.¹ William Starling Holloway lived on 23 July 1850 at Henderson, Henderson Co., KY, farming.² He died on 13 July 1871 at age 58. He was buried in July 1871 at Fernwood Cemetery, Henderson, Henderson Co., KY, Findagrave #85621494.

     William Starling Holloway was born on 27 September 1843. He was the son of John Holloway and Laura Smith.

     George W. Hollowell was born on 15 November 1867 at Dubois Co., IN. He married Dora Effie Brock, daughter of John Brock and Della M. Roberson, on 11 June 1925 at New Albany, Floyd Co., IN.

     Harry L. Hollowell was born on 30 August 1921 at Floyd Co. (probably), IN.¹ He was the son of Knoffel Hollowell and Leota C. Wellman.¹ Harry L. Hollowell died on 6 June 2011 at Marion Co., FL, at age 89 dates per SSDI, last address Orange Lake.

     Knoffel Hollowell was born circa 1894 at Indiana.¹ He married Leota C. Wellman, daughter of Charles W. Wellman and Delilah Ellen Davis.¹

     Margaret Hollowell married John Brumfield.

     Occupation: Farmer. Charles C. Hollstein was born on 9 December 1884.¹ He was the son of John Hollstein and Eliza (?) Charles C. Hollstein married Elizabeth R. Ulfers, daughter of Jacob S. Ulfers and Martha Ann Miller, on 30 November 1910.¹ Charles C. Hollstein died in December 1965 at Beach, Golden Valley Co., ND.²

     Charles John Hollstein was born on 24 July 1917.¹ He was the son of Charles C. Hollstein and Elizabeth R. Ulfers.

     Ilo Charlotte Hollstein was born on 8 September 1914.¹ She was the daughter of Charles C. Hollstein and Elizabeth R. Ulfers.

     Michael Hollywood was born circa 1844 at Ireland.¹ He married Melissa J. Larimore, daughter of John Larimore and Asenath Munden, on 22 October 1869 at Tazewell Co., IL.

     Hans Otto Holm was born on 8 March 1889 at Norway. He married Astrid Holten. Hans Otto Holm died on 19 September 1964 at St. Louis Co., MN, at age 75.

     John E. Holm was born in July 1893. He married Verna LaRue Miller on 12 April 1922 at Clinton Co., IA. John E. Holm died on 31 August 1975 at age 82. He was buried in September 1975 at Clinton Lawn Cemetery, Clinton, Clinton Co., IA, Findagrave #6250974.

     Charles H. Holman was born on 8 April 1877. He married Ann E. Pelton. Charles H. Holman died on 7 February 1948 at age 70. He was buried in February 1948 at Riverview Cemetery, Marseilles, LaSalle Co., IL, Findagrave #32936683.

     Donna Maude Holman was born on 21 September 1926 at Moberly, Randolph Co., MO; daughter of Marion Ursel and Alberta "Birdie" Jane (Young) Holman. She married James Windle Derr, son of Mack Derr and Verna B. Windle, on 25 December 1955 at Moberly, Randolph Co., MO. Donna Maude Holman died on 14 September 2014 at Moberly, Randolph Co., MO, at age 87

Donna M. Derr, 87, of Moberly, died Sunday morning, September 14, 2014, at Moberly Nursing and Rehab. Donna was born September 21, 1926, in Moberly to Marion and Alberta (Young) Holman.

She had worked as a secretary at Moberly Junior High School, and later a bookkeeper at A.B. Kelly Motors. She was a lifetime member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). She enjoyed playing the piano and organ at church, playing cards, and playing golf.

Donna married James W. Derr on December 25, 1955 in Moberly and he survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Deborah Ann Crapisi and her husband Jack of Kansas City, MO; a son Curtis Derr of Moberly; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Doris Trusty.

Memorial contributions to the Christos Center, or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.

Services honoring and celebrating Donna’s life were at the Cater Funeral Home Chapel.

     Pearl Elizabeth Holman was born on 8 February 1911 at Illinois. She was the daughter of Charles H. Holman and Ann E. Pelton. Pearl Elizabeth Holman married Eldon Harold Hayes, son of William Henry Hayes and Bertha Marie Schutte, on 16 July 1936 at Cook Co., IL. Pearl Elizabeth Holman died on 29 July 1981 at Des Plaines, Cook Co., IL, at age 70. She was buried in August 1981 at Riverview Cemetery, Marseilles, LaSalle Co., IL, Findagrave #32891680.

     Ada Leana Holmes was born in September 1872 at Missouri. She married James Monroe Cornelius, son of James W. Cornelius and Sarah Elizabeth Shryock, circa 1892 at Colby, Thomas Co., KS, They had twelve children, three died at birth.

     Alex Holmes married Edna Anna Brandt, daughter of Richard W. Brandt and Bertha H. Lemke, in 1923.

     Alice Holmes was born on 5 August 1892.¹ She was the daughter of James Holmes and Anina (?)¹ Alice Holmes married Vernon C. Harp, son of John C. Harp and Ida Horning, on 28 July 1917, Ceremony by Rev. A. M. Heilman, Pastor of Grace English Lutheran Church of Chicago.¹

     Almon C. Holmes was born on 3 October 1885 at Illinois.¹ He was the son of Robert James Holmes and Catherine Slack.¹ Almon C. Holmes died on 9 March 1914 at age 28. He was buried in March 1914 at Fargo Cemetery, Fargo, Ellis Co., OK, Findagrave #78705080.

     Araminta Holmes married Alva Cullers Burner, son of Abraham C. Burner and Barbara Stover, on 4 March 1852 at Crawford Co., IL.

     Bettye Jo Holmes was born on 23 May 1941. She was the daughter of James Edward Holmes and Hallie C. Wimpee. Bettye Jo Holmes married Wayne Haynes. Bettye Jo Holmes died on 28 June 2005 at age 64. She was buried in July 2005 at Bowling Green Gardens Cemetery, Bowling Green, Warren Co., KY.

     Caroline Holmes was born circa 1862 at Maquoketa, Jackson Co., IA.¹ She married Dr. John Dudley Hullinger on 21 August 1890 at Jones Co., IA. Caroline Holmes died after April 1940.

     Charles E. Holmes was born on 8 March 1945 at Washington. He was the son of Charles Seymour Holmes and Elizabeth Audrey Rae. Charles E. Holmes died on 6 June 1998 at Copper Center, Valdez Cordova Co., AL, at age 53.
