Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 1st at Ankeny Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4208 N Ankeny Blvd. Visitation will be at 3:00 pm followed by the celebration of life service at 4:00 pm.
Charlotte was born December 11, 1939 in Des Moines, Iowa to Lester and Anita (Little) Honts. She was one of seven brothers and sisters. She married the love of her life Jack Nichols in 1959 and they lived in Des Moines until 1999.
Charlotte was a hardworking, loving mother and grandmother who adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her faith in Jesus and unconditional love were evident to all. She took great pride in cooking and gardening. She enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and traveling with her family. Charlotte loved animals, especially her dogs Lucy and Kai.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbi Cheek of Woodward, Iowa, her son, Rick (Jodie) Nichols of Orlando, Florida; six grandchildren: Jennifer (Dave) Fuqua, Michael (Emily) Klingensmith, Brandon (Katelyn) Cheek, Nathan Nichols, Allycia Nichols and Annalea Nichols; two great grandchildren: Drake Klingensmith and Vivienne Cheek. She was preceded in death by her mother Anita Little Honts, husband Jack and daughter Cheryl Klingensmith.

Mrs. Don Colton Rites Were Held Wednesday
Death always brings grief and particularly is this true when a young mother is called from the home and family of loved ones while still in the prime of young womanhood.
Mrs. Don Colton, who has been ill for several years, but who bore her suffering with patience and rare fortitude, died at 8:40 Sunday evening October 19, 1958 at Muscatine General hospital, where she was taken the previous Friday evening.
Opal Honts, daughter of Harry and Sarah Lord Honts, was born at Conesville, Iowa. November 27, 1915, and was aged 42 years, 10 months, 22 days. The family soon afterward moved to Columbus City and September 24, 1934 she was united in marriage to Donald Colton. They made their home at Columbus City for one year them moved to Columbus Junction which has since been their home. Some years ago they built and moved to a fine modern new home on south hill.
She was a member of the Open Bible church at Morning Sun.
She is survived by her husband and two sons, Larry of Oklahoma City, who came last week to be at the bedside of his mother and Tom at home. She is also survived by her father, Harry Honts of Morning Sun, and by one sister, Mrs. Alonzo Garrett of Detroit and two brothers Lester Honts of Des Moines and Richard Honts Bettendorf.
One son preceded her in death at the age of 13 months. She was also preceded in death some years ago by her mother.
Funeral services were conducted at two o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Stacy Funeral home by the Rev. Virgil Elliott pastor of the church at Morning Sun.
Music was by Mrs. B.O. Roundy and Mrs. Carl Wiley who sang "We Shall See Christ" and "Home Sweet Sweet Home". Flower attendants were Mrs. Harold Hall, Mrs. Dale Deenblossom and Mrs. Keith Grenstead. Casket bearers were Harold Hall, Walter DeVore, Merle Colton, Charles Brown, Herbert Ellingson and Cleo Swaila.
