Nora Marie Anderson
F, b. 23 May 1934, d. 3 October 2015
Nora Marie Anderson was born on 23 May 1934. She married Lawrence Elmer Blankenship circa 1952, Five children. Nora Marie Anderson married Wayne Edward Price, son of Elmer S. Price and Mamie Belle Proctor. Nora Marie Anderson died on 3 October 2015 at Pauls Valley, Garvin Co., OK, at age 81 Obituary (Findagrave.com):
Born Nora Marie Anderson on May 23, 1934.
She died in Pauls Valley on Saturday, October 3, 2015.
Marie, as she preferred to be called, was raised in Garvin County. She married a Pauls Valley local, Lawrence Elmer (Larry) Blankenship, at the age of eighteen. Larry was in the Air Force, so she spent the first twenty years of her adult life as a military wife? some say the toughest job in the military.
By the time she was twenty-four they had five children. She was often raising those children on her own, while Larry was overseas or on temporary assignment away from their home base.
After retiring from the Air Force, they returned to central Oklahoma. She worked for the University of Oklahoma, and for Sherry Classics in Purcell.
After Larry’s heart attack, they moved to Pauls Valley and were both active in the local chapter of the VFW (Veterans of Foreign War). Marie later served as the VFW Ladies Auxiliary President for several years.
Always an excellent seamstress, she made most of her children’s clothes, and taught all three of her daughters to sew, to crochet, and to knit.
When Marie and Lawrence purchased Valley Cleaners in Pauls Valley, she ran the business and did all their alterations until it sold. After a prolonged illness, Marie lost her first husband in 1989.
A new widow, Marie met and eventually married a local businessman, Wayne Price, who was the owner of Price’s Tire Shop in Pauls Valley. They partnered in running the tire shop for most of their time together. Wayne and she continued as active membersof the VFW. They enjoyed spending their leisure time together and with his family, fishing and traveling, both locally and across the United States.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Minnie Mae (Stephens) Anderson, her sisters Ruthie Mae Anderson and Wanda Sue Anderson, her brothers RC Anderson and Earnest Anderson, first husband Lawrence Elmer Blankenship, second husband Wayne Price, her oldest son Pete (Larry Mitchell) Blankenship, and her oldest granddaughter Amanda Cathleen Brinley.

Omer Edward Anderson died on 20 February 1950 at Little York, Washington Co., IN, at age 63 OBITUARY - The Salem, Indiana Leader, February 23, 1950:
Little York Farmer Drowns In Spring …..
Omer Anderson Meets Tragic Death While Cleaning Out …..
Spring At Farm;
Omer Anderson, 63, prominent Little York farmer, met tragic death by drowning Monday afternoon. His body was found, head downward, in the spring near a stock tank on his farm by two neighbors summoned by Mrs. Anderson when her husband failed to return to the house at chore time.
Clarence Gross and Bert Thompson discovered the tragedy about 6:45 p.m. Monday evening. Mr. Anderson’s head and shoulders were submerged in the water and mud in the bottom of the spring.
Death probably occurred about 1 p.m. according to Coroner Frank Newkirk, who pronounced the cause as accidental suffocation and drowning.
Mr. Anderson had talked with Mr. Thompson Monday afternoon and said he thought he would clean out the spring which furnished water for his stock. The spring is in the bottom of a well-like opening, with a pipe loading from it to the stock tank.
He has apparently dipped most of the water and mud from the spring and was attempting to clean out the pipe with a piece of wire when he slipped into the mud and water at the bottom.
Mrs. Anderson began looking for her husband when he failed to return to the house towards evening. Seeing his horses she thought perhaps he had gone on into the fields until she noted the dog had returned to the house. Becoming alarmed she called her neighbors and Mr. Thompson and Mr. Gross went to the spring.
Mr. Anderson had resided in the Little York community for the past five years. Before that time he lived in the Hickory Grove community in Franklin Township. He was a lifelong resident of the county.
He was born August 9, 1886 to William F. and Malinda Floyd Anderson. He was married to Lula Tash, daughter of Benton and Elva Tash.
He was buried in February 1950 at Crown Hill Cemetery, Salem, Washington Co., IN.
