Scott Allen Kirchner, 39, of 494 Loveland Dr., Rogersville, Mo., and formerly of Fort Madison, died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004 at 12:30 p.m. at his home.
He was born Aug. 31, 1965 at Fort Madison, the son of Roger and Judy Roxlau Kirchner. He was a self-employed carpenter.
He is survived by one son, Brett Kirchner, and one daughter, Bailey Kirchner, both of Anniston, Ala; his parents, Roger and Judy Kirchner, Fort Madison; one brother, Dennis Kirchner, Fort Madison, one sister, Sherri Fullenkamp, West Point, and one nephew.
Friends may call after 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 31, with the family to meet friends from 6 to 7 p.m. that evening at King-Lynk Funeral Home, Fort Madison. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 1, 2004 at Ss. Mary and Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. Thomas Parlette officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, Fort Madison. A memorial has been established for his childrens' education, and contributions can be left at King-Lynk or the church the day of the service. But an unnamed female infant born in April, 1900 is listed on the 1900 census, and according to the 1910 census all four of Marzee's children were living, so the April 1900 infant can only have been Ethyl. DLB 2018.2,1 She was the daughter of Walter Whittaker Kirk and Emeratta Manda Marzee Hood.1 Ethyl Marie Kirk married Murray Leon Williams, son of Samuel Williams and Willie Augusta Smith, in 1920. Ethyl Marie Kirk lived on 4 April 1940 at 914 West Third Street, Elk City, Beckham Co., OK.3 She died on 30 October 1989 at Abilene, Taylor Co., TX, at age 89.

James Ely Kirk

Scott City - James Ely Kirk, 97, Scott County grainman since 1921, died yesterday afternoon at the Scott County Hospital, following a brief illness.

He was born April 5, 1868, on a farm in Jefferson County, Ohio, and came to Kansas in 1890. He had been employed by the Santa Fe Railroad at Ellinwood, Great Bend and Sylvia.

He was married to Della A. Blackly [sic], Dec. 24, 1899, at Nickerson.

Mr. Kirk was a member of the First Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge, had served on the City Council for many years, and was a director of the First National Bank, Scott City.

Surviving are the widow; five sons, Harold, Henry and Thomas, all of Scott City, Robert, Longmont, Colo., and Dr. Arthur, Spokane, Wash; four daughters, Mrs. Marvin Bastin, Mrs. Clifton Ottaway, both of Scott City, Mrs. Alden Eberly, Needham, Mass. and Mrs. C.C. Mortensen, San Pedro, Calif; a sister, Mrs. Lucia Carr, South Charleston, Ohio; 26 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the First Methodist Church, Scott City, with the Rev. Elmer Rinkel officiating. BUrial will be at the Scott County Cemetery. The Weinmann-Price Funeral Home is in charge.

He was buried in March 1966 at Scott County Cemetery, Scott City, Scott Co., KS, Findagrave #18803391.
