Oliver Irey began military service on 8 February 1865 Civil War service, enlisted, Co. G, 153rd Indiana Volunteer Infantry, mustered out 4 SEP 1865 at Louisville, Kentucky. He lived on 29 June 1880 at Bear Creek Twp., Jay Co., IN, Blacksmith.¹ He died on 25 December 1905 at Marion, Grant Co., IN, at age 72. He was buried in December 1905 at Marion National Cemetery, Marion, Grant Co., IN, Findagrave #71103673.
