Mrs. Elma Etta Emery, 62, Carwood township, Blackiston Mill Road, died at 4:40 a. m. Wednesday in St. Edward's Hospital after a three year illness.
Surviving are her husband, William R. Emery; her mother, Mrs. Laura Jackson, Sellersburg; one son, Charles W. Emery, Sellersburg; four daughters, Miss Thelma Emery, Mrs. Claude Broady, Mrs. Kermit Sullivan and Mrs. Paul Woodruff, all of Jeffersonville; one brother, Claude Jackson, New Albany; two sisters, Mrs. Kelsie Brockelhurst, and Mrs. Roscoe Armstrong, both of New Albany; and eight grandchildren.
The body is at the Coots funeral home in Jeffersonville, where services will be held at 1 p. m. Friday. Services will also be held at 2 p.m. at the United Brethren church in Carwood. Burial will be in Hickory Grove cemetery near Carwood township.

     Note: Per 1910 census info, Ada had a prior marriage -- it appears Elmer was from the first marriage and later was adopted by John Jackson. DLB 2011. Elmer Jackson was born in May 1885 at Maryland.¹ He was the son of John S. Jackson and Ada Rebecca Cook.¹

     Emmett Jay Jackson was born on 11 October 1885 at Lima, Allen Co., OH. He was the son of Johnson Peter Jackson and Cora Catherine Marshall. Emmett Jay Jackson married Florence Jane Morrison, daughter of Thomas Crawford Morrison and Cordelia Williamson, on 19 June 1917 at Lima, Allen Co., OH. Emmett Jay Jackson died on 28 August 1963 at Dayton, Montgomery Co., OH, at age 77 Jay actually expired at the home of his daughter Louise Semler, at 9 Wayne Drive, Fairborn (Greene County), Ohio, but was transported to Dayton and pronounced dead there.

     Emmett Jay Jackson was born on 20 February 1919 at Lima, Allen Co., OH. He was the son of Emmett Jay Jackson and Florence Jane Morrison. Emmett Jay Jackson married Mary Catherine Titer, daughter of David P. Titer and Mary E. McDermott, on 7 June 1947 at Clark Co., OH. Emmett Jay Jackson died on 17 May 1983 at Dayton, Montgomery Co., OH, at age 64. He was buried in May 1983 at Davids Cemetery, Kettering, Montgomery Co., OH, Find A Grave Memorial# 40718990.

     Ervin Jackson was born circa 1904 at Allen Co. (probably), IN.¹ He was the son of William A. Jackson and Sophia S. Schmidt.¹ Ervin Jackson died before April 1930 at Allen Co., IN, not found in the 1930 census, probably died in the 1920s.

     Esless Jackson was also known as "Jack". He was born on 5 November 1934 at Manchester, Clay Co., KY. He married Betty Lou Mays on 5 June 1957 at Indiana. Esless Jackson died on 28 May 2004 at Indiana at age 69

Died Friday, May 28, 2004 at his residence. He was born November 5, 1934 in Manchester, KY the son of Tolerman and Malvia Bowling Jackson. He married Betty Mays and she preceded him in death on June 7, 1979. Survivors include his mother, Malvia Jackson of Connersville, one daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Brad Noes of Harrison, OH, two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Kim Jackson of Brookville, Greg and Jan Jackson of Milan, four sisters, Jewel Butler of Monroe, OH, Betty Fox of Connersville, Ruth Ann Kenworthy of Connersville, Linda Sullivan of Hamilton, OH, five brothers, Eugene Jackson of Columbus, Art Jackson of Ft. Myers, FL, Walter Jackson of Alquina, Junior Jackson of Everton, Jerry Jackson of Connersville, two half sisters, Vicky and Kathy of Kentucky and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and infant brothers, Paul and Ag Jackson. Mr. Jackson was a retired teamster and driver for Roadway Express retiring in 1990 after 27 years of employment. He was also a Navy veteran serving from 1952 to 1956. Funeral mass was held Wednesday, June 2, 10 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home in Brookville. Burial was in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Brookville.

George Wesley Jackson was born in Goldthwaite, Texas on February 9, 1930, and passed away at Christopher House in Austin, Texas on Monday, February 11, 2019. He was 89 years old.

George was the son of John Andrew Jackson and Myrtle T. Long. He has one younger sister, Betty Smith of Goldthwaite, TX.

He grew up in Goldthwaite and attended Goldthwaite High School, where he took his first accounting class. This inspired him to study accounting in college at The University of Texas in Austin.

The Korean Conflict interrupted college, George volunteered for the US Air Force, and served from 1951 to 1955. After his service, he returned to UT for his last semester and received a degree in business in 1955.

George first went to work for Trinity University Insurance Company in Seattle, Washington, but was homesick and returned to Texas. George worked as Comptroller for J W Batson in Dallas until he retired in 1995. He continued as a contractor with them until the move to Georgetown in 1997.

George met Beverly Ann Maritt in Dallas and they married on December 22, 1961. They had two sons, John Maritt Jackson and Paul Wesley Jackson.

George and Beverly enjoyed spending time with friends, playing bridge, gardening and boating. They made many memories with their friends and family at their lake house on Cedar Creek Lake. Once they had settled down in Sun City, they became active in the Square Dancing Club, where George continued to participate weekly, even after Beverly’s death. George was also a constant presence in the Contemporary Forums Class at First United Methodist Church in Georgetown.

He enjoyed traveling, and George and Beverly visited 49 countries together. His last trip was with his son John, daughter-in-law Lezlie and granddaughters Christine and Elizabeth last summer to Montego Bay, Jamaica.

George was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Beverly.

He is survived by his son, John and wife Lezlie Jackson; son, Paul Jackson; granddaughters, Christine Jackson and Elizabeth Jackson; and his sister, Betty Smith.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 18, 2019 at First United Methodist Church, 410 E. University in Georgetown. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Goldthwaite Cemetery.

     Gladys Jackson was born circa 1899 at Missouri.¹ She married Charles Vance circa 1918.¹
Note: I believe she was the daughter of Max Jackson, b. DEC 1850, Illinois, and his wife who died before the 1900 census, probably in York Twp., Putnam County, Missouri. Gladys was not listed in his household in 1900 -- she would have been an infant, and probably was in the care of a woman who could nurse her. His son Henry, born about 1896, was also not in his household in 1900. Neither Henry nor Gladys appear to have been listed with a Jackson surname in 1900, although they are found in their father's household in 1910. DLB 2013.

     Glenn Edward Jackson was born on 5 August 1923 at Le Mars, Plymouth Co., IA. He married Ethelann (?). Occupation: orthodontist, recognized for research into new dental procedures by the American Board of Orthodontists; faculty member at Northwestern University. Glenn Edward Jackson died on 9 May 1995 at Lake Forest, Lake Co., IL, at age 71.

     Grace Naomi Jackson was born on 11 August 1905 at Clark Co. (probably), IN. She was the daughter of Zeaphra Clarence Jackson and Emma Arizona Warman. Grace Naomi Jackson married Samuel Vasco Hagest, son of Samuel Hagest and Josephine Zeitvogel. Mrs. Grace N. Hagest, 35, wife of Samuel Hagest, of Jeffersonville, died at 3:45 o'clock Wednesday afternoon in St. Edward's Hospital, following a month's illness. Other survivors include her father, Zephra Jackson, Clark County; a sister, Mrs. Benjamin Keibler, Clark County; and three brothers, Guy Jackson, New Albany, Roy Jackson of Bordon, and Carl Jackson, Louisville. The body is at the Scott-Combs Chapel, Jeffersonville.

     Guy Pink Jackson was born on 6 April 1901 at Clark Co. (probably), IN. He was the son of Zeaphra Clarence Jackson and Emma Arizona Warman. Guy Pink Jackson married Mildred Hazel Bywater, daughter of William Bywater and Hester L. Blankenbaker, circa 1922. Guy Pink Jackson died on 23 March 1981 at age 79.

     Hannah Jackson was born on 14 February 1842 at Kennett Square, Chester Co., PA. She was the daughter of Caleb Sharpless Jackson and Mary Ann Gause.¹ Hannah Jackson married Joseph Detweiler Price, son of Rev. John R. Price and Catherine Detweiler, on 29 November 1864 at Chester Co., PA.² Hannah Jackson died on 2 July 1915 at age 73 Mrs. Price was a student of Eton Academy, Kennett Square. Soon after graduating she volunteered her services for the instruction of colored children of Kennett Square and taught them successfully for three years. Afterwards she taught in the grammar school. She married Mr. Price while he was serving his country during the Civil War. After his death, she left Kansas with her four small children and took up her residence in her native village, Kennett Square, where she taught school for some time and then began the study of medicine, entering the Woman's Medical College, Phila. in 1878 and graduating therefrom in 1881. Immediately thereafter became asst. physician at the Woman's Hospital. In 1882 she removed to Chester, Pa., where she built up an excellent practice; became a member of the First Baptist Church. A few years before her death she gave up her practice and for some time was engaged in social work in New York City for which she was well fitted.¹

     Harold Herman Jackson was born on 6 September 1914 at New Albany, Floyd Co., IN. He was the son of Otto Franklin Jackson and Jane Calvin Faber. Harold Herman Jackson died on 22 August 1946 at Ellettsville, Monroe Co., IN, at age 31 Harold and Isabelle were listed in the New Albany, Floyd County, Indiana City Directory for the years 1943 - 1944. They lived at 1206 Ekin Ave. and Harold's occupation was listed as "Ground man for public service company." In 1947 Isabelle was listed at the same address as the widow of Harold H. Jackson. Her occupation was listed as being employed by the C-P Company (Colgate-Palmolive Company). No entries was found for Harold in the Floyd County Death Records. Isabelle disappeared from the New Albany City Directory in 1975.

H. H. Jackson, Phone Worker, Killed By Tree
Lineman Is Struck On Ellettsville Job
Harold H. Jackson, 31, of 1206 Ekin, New Albany, Indiana Bell Telephone Company lineman, was killed by a falling tree at 9 a.m. yesterday while working at Ellettsville, Ind.
Jackson was employed temporarily with a gang clearing a right-of-way for a line in the vicinity of Ellettsville. His head was crushed by the tree. He had been employed by the telephone company approximately 18 months.
He was a member of Central Christian Church, DePauw Lodge of Masons and Hope Lodge of Odd Fellows.
Survivors, wife, Mrs. Isabelle Jackson; son, Glenn Jackson; daughters, Joan and Jean Jackson; mother, Mrs.Jane Jackson, and sisters, Mrs. William Proctor and Mrs. Hudson Trusty, all of New Albany.
The body is at the residence pending funeral services at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Central Christian Church; burial, Graceland Memorial Park.

H. H. Jackson Killed By Falling Tree
Harold H. Jackson, 31, 1206 Ekin, lineman for the Indiana Bell Telephone company, was killed by a falling tree Thursday morning, the local telephone company was notified.
The accident happened near Ellettsville where Jackson was working with a crew clearing a right-of-way for a telephone line. Jackson was working in that vicinity while his crew here was on vacation.
Jackson had been affiliated with the telephone company for a year and a half. He was a member of the Masonic and Odd Fellows Lodges and the Central Christian church.
Survivors include wife, Mrs. Isabelle Jackson; son, Glenn; two daughters, Joan and Jean; mother, Mrs. Jane Jackson, 1516 Shelby, and two sisters, Mrs. William Procter and Mrs. Hudson Trusty, both of New Albany.
Funeral arrangements are not complete but it is expected that services will be held here Sunday.

He was buried in August 1946 at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany, Floyd Co., IN.

     Helen Jackson was born in May 1862.¹ She was the daughter of Prof. Josiah Jackson and Mary Price.¹ Helen Jackson married Prof. Louis Ehrhart Reber, son of Jacob Reber and Elizabeth (?), on 7 March 1889.¹

     Helen Nadine Jackson was born on 21 October 1923 at Galt, Grundy Co., MO.¹ She was the daughter of Cecil Muerl Jackson and Edith Marie Snapp.¹ Helen Nadine Jackson married Donald Leo Neet, son of John Earl Neet and Sarah Blanche Hamilton, circa 1942. Helen Nadine Jackson lived in 1946 at Greeley, Weld Co., CO, employee, Greeley National Bank (listed in city directory.) She and Donald Leo Neet were divorced. Helen Nadine Jackson died on 31 October 2003 at Greeley, Weld Co., CO, at age 80.

     Hellen May Jackson was born on 1 January 1861 at Hancock Co., IL.¹ She was the daughter of Peter Jackson and Angeline Hanson.¹ Hellen May Jackson married Franklin W. Walker, son of Henry M. Walker and Sophronia Rankin, on 10 November 1880 at Hancock Co., IL. Hellen May Jackson died on 3 February 1953 at age 92. She was buried in February 1953 at Moss Ridge Cemetery, Carthage, Hancock Co., IL, Findagrave #146920685.

     Henry H. Jackson was born on 7 February 1826 at Clark Co., IN.¹ He was the son of John Jackson and Catherine Dawalt.¹ Henry H. Jackson died on 5 March 1903 at Clark Co., IN, at age 77. He was buried in March 1903 at Hickory Grove Cemetery, Carr Twp., Clark Co., IN.

     Ida A. Jackson was born on 14 October 1865 at Lafayette, Allen Co., OH.¹ She was the daughter of William Jackson and Elizabeth McLaughlin.¹ Ida A. Jackson married William B. Kitselman on 28 October 1890 at Ft. Wayne, Allen Co., IN, no children. Ida A. Jackson married John H. Sonfield on 5 April 1908 at Allen Co., IN, no children. Ida A. Jackson lived in April 1910 at Plymouth, Marshall Co., IN.² She died in 1928 at Ft. Wayne, Allen Co., IN.

     Irene Jackson was born on 26 September 1923. She married Glenn Connie Isaacs. Irene Jackson died on 13 August 2003 at Wichita Co., TX, at age 79 dates per SSDI, last residence Wichita Falls.

     Note: Settled near their daughter Rebecca. Isaac Jackson married Ann Evans.

     Isaac Jackson was born on 31 March 1873. He married Ida M. Lieberknecht, daughter of Adam Lieberknecht and Eliza E. Tallman, circa 1895. Isaac Jackson died on 8 August 1936 at age 63.

     Isaac Tucker Jackson was born on 10 June 1812 at North Carolina.¹ He married Sarah F. Smith.¹ Isaac Tucker Jackson died in April 1870 at Johnson Co., AR, at age 57.

     Isabel Morrison Jackson was born on 11 May 1910.¹ She was the daughter of William B. Jackson and Isabel West.¹
