Mrs. Elma Etta Emery, 62, Carwood township, Blackiston Mill Road, died at 4:40 a. m. Wednesday in St. Edward's Hospital after a three year illness.

George was the son of John Andrew Jackson and Myrtle T. Long. He has one younger sister, Betty Smith of Goldthwaite, TX.
He grew up in Goldthwaite and attended Goldthwaite High School, where he took his first accounting class. This inspired him to study accounting in college at The University of Texas in Austin.
The Korean Conflict interrupted college, George volunteered for the US Air Force, and served from 1951 to 1955. After his service, he returned to UT for his last semester and received a degree in business in 1955.
George first went to work for Trinity University Insurance Company in Seattle, Washington, but was homesick and returned to Texas. George worked as Comptroller for J W Batson in Dallas until he retired in 1995. He continued as a contractor with them until the move to Georgetown in 1997.
George met Beverly Ann Maritt in Dallas and they married on December 22, 1961. They had two sons, John Maritt Jackson and Paul Wesley Jackson.
George and Beverly enjoyed spending time with friends, playing bridge, gardening and boating. They made many memories with their friends and family at their lake house on Cedar Creek Lake. Once they had settled down in Sun City, they became active in the Square Dancing Club, where George continued to participate weekly, even after Beverly’s death. George was also a constant presence in the Contemporary Forums Class at First United Methodist Church in Georgetown.
He enjoyed traveling, and George and Beverly visited 49 countries together. His last trip was with his son John, daughter-in-law Lezlie and granddaughters Christine and Elizabeth last summer to Montego Bay, Jamaica.
George was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Beverly.
He is survived by his son, John and wife Lezlie Jackson; son, Paul Jackson; granddaughters, Christine Jackson and Elizabeth Jackson; and his sister, Betty Smith.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 18, 2019 at First United Methodist Church, 410 E. University in Georgetown. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Goldthwaite Cemetery.

Hannah Jackson was born on 14 February 1842 at Kennett Square, Chester Co., PA. She was the daughter of Caleb Sharpless Jackson and Mary Ann Gause.1 Hannah Jackson married Joseph Detweiler Price, son of Rev. John R. Price and Catherine Detweiler, on 29 November 1864 at Chester Co., PA.2 Hannah Jackson died on 2 July 1915 at age 73 Mrs. Price was a student of Eton Academy, Kennett Square. Soon after graduating she volunteered her services for the instruction of colored children of Kennett Square and taught them successfully for three years. Afterwards she taught in the grammar school. She married Mr. Price while he was serving his country during the Civil War. After his death, she left Kansas with her four small children and took up her residence in her native village, Kennett Square, where she taught school for some time and then began the study of medicine, entering the Woman's Medical College, Phila. in 1878 and graduating therefrom in 1881. Immediately thereafter became asst. physician at the Woman's Hospital. In 1882 she removed to Chester, Pa., where she built up an excellent practice; became a member of the First Baptist Church. A few years before her death she gave up her practice and for some time was engaged in social work in New York City for which she was well fitted.1

They lived at 1206 Ekin Ave. and Harold's occupation was listed as "Ground man for public service company." In 1947 Isabelle was listed at the same address as the widow of Harold H. Jackson. Her occupation was listed as being employed by the C-P Company (Colgate-Palmolive Company). No entries was found for Harold in the Floyd County Death Records. Isabelle disappeared from the New Albany City Directory in 1975.

Lineman Is Struck On Ellettsville Job
Harold H. Jackson, 31, of 1206 Ekin, New Albany, Indiana Bell Telephone Company lineman, was killed by a falling tree at 9 a.m. yesterday while working at Ellettsville, Ind.
Jackson was employed temporarily with a gang clearing a right-of-way for a line in the vicinity of Ellettsville. His head was crushed by the tree. He had been employed by the telephone company approximately 18 months.
He was a member of Central Christian Church, DePauw Lodge of Masons and Hope Lodge of Odd Fellows.
Survivors, wife, Mrs. Isabelle Jackson; son, Glenn Jackson; daughters, Joan and Jean Jackson; mother, Mrs.Jane Jackson, and sisters, Mrs. William Proctor and Mrs. Hudson Trusty, all of New Albany.
The body is at the residence pending funeral services at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Central Christian Church; burial, Graceland Memorial Park.

H. H. Jackson Killed By Falling Tree
Harold H. Jackson, 31, 1206 Ekin, lineman for the Indiana Bell Telephone company, was killed by a falling tree Thursday morning, the local telephone company was notified.
The accident happened near Ellettsville where Jackson was working with a crew clearing a right-of-way for a telephone line. Jackson was working in that vicinity while his crew here was on vacation.

Survivors include wife, Mrs. Isabelle Jackson; son, Glenn; two daughters, Joan and Jean; mother, Mrs. Jane Jackson, 1516 Shelby, and two sisters, Mrs. William Procter and Mrs. Hudson Trusty, both of New Albany.
Funeral arrangements are not complete but it is expected that services will be held here Sunday.
He was buried in August 1946 at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany, Floyd Co., IN.

Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Sherman Smith, this city, announce the marriage of their daughter, Miss Isabelle Smith, to Harold H. Jackson, 1516 Shelby street, son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Jackson, which took place April 3 in Covington, Ky. The couple will reside at 258 Cherry Street.
Harold Herman Jackson died on 22 August 1946 at Ellettsville, Monroe Co., IN, at age 31 Harold and Isabelle were listed in the New Albany, Floyd County, Indiana City Directory for the years 1943 - 1944. They lived at 1206 Ekin Ave. and Harold's occupation was listed as "Ground man for public service company." In 1947 Isabelle was listed at the same address as the widow of Harold H. Jackson. Her occupation was listed as being employed by the C-P Company (Colgate-Palmolive Company). No entries was found for Harold in the Floyd County Death Records. Isabelle disappeared from the New Albany City Directory in 1975.

Lineman Is Struck On Ellettsville Job
Harold H. Jackson, 31, of 1206 Ekin, New Albany, Indiana Bell Telephone Company lineman, was killed by a falling tree at 9 a.m. yesterday while working at Ellettsville, Ind.
Jackson was employed temporarily with a gang clearing a right-of-way for a line in the vicinity of Ellettsville. His head was crushed by the tree. He had been employed by the telephone company approximately 18 months.
He was a member of Central Christian Church, DePauw Lodge of Masons and Hope Lodge of Odd Fellows.
Survivors, wife, Mrs. Isabelle Jackson; son, Glenn Jackson; daughters, Joan and Jean Jackson; mother, Mrs.Jane Jackson, and sisters, Mrs. William Proctor and Mrs. Hudson Trusty, all of New Albany.
The body is at the residence pending funeral services at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Central Christian Church; burial, Graceland Memorial Park.

Harold H. Jackson, 31, 1206 Ekin, lineman for the Indiana Bell Telephone company, was killed by a falling tree Thursday morning, the local telephone company was notified.
The accident happened near Ellettsville where Jackson was working with a crew clearing a right-of-way for a telephone line. Jackson was working in that vicinity while his crew here was on vacation.
