William E. Jenkins, 77, of 607 West 17th, died Saturday, May 5, at St. Francis Medical Center. Graveside services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Oakdale Cemetery at Oakdale. Visitation is...at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home.

Mr. Jenkins was born April 12, 1913, in Pierce County, the son of John and Zelda Kirkpatrick Jenkins. He received his education in Norfolk and attended a country school southeast of Battle Creek. He married Ilene Warnock on Sept. 11, 1937, in Yankton, S. D. Mrs. Jenkins died in 1980. He worked as a farm hand, construction worker and a truck driver. He moved to Grand Island to make his home in 1983.

Survivors include one daughter, Nona Carr of Oakdale; five sons, Larry of Marquette, Emory and Charles, both of Grand Island, Lloyd of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Roger of Bayard; 23 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Norman.

He was buried in May 1990 at Oakdale Cemetery, Oakdale, Antelope Co., NE, Findagrave #187042473.
