Biography (Findagrave.com):
Bio contributed by member Charlott Jones (#47003358)
Followed his father from Kentucky to Chicot County in Arkansas.
He was the administrator of his fathers will and it took 10 years to get it all settled. He would be the one, along with his wife, Lydia who would become the master and mistress of "Lakeport." It was soon after that he started building the grand house on the plantation.
By the onset of the Civil War he owned thousands of prime plantation land and over 100 slaves. Unlike so many, he was able to hang on after the war. Even after his death in 1876 Lydia was able to hold on to the land, however, she spent a good deal of time in Kentucky, while their son Theodore ran the plantation.
His youngest son Victor would be the one in the family who would end up with "Lakeport" after 1900.
Children:
Joel; John H; Bent T; Mary S; Linnie; Theodore; Annie; Carl; Walter; Julia; Victor M.
He was buried in August 1876 at Frankfort Cemetery, Frankfort, Franklin Co., KY, Findagrave #137053810.

Margaret Anna Johnson1
F, b. 18 July 1865, d. 1937
Margaret Anna Johnson was also known as "Maggie". She was born on 18 July 1865 at Salesville, Guernsey Co., OH, location per 1927 Indiana marriage record, which shows a (wrong) birth year of 1869.1 She was the daughter of Simon Ira Johnson and Elizabeth Starr.1 Margaret Anna Johnson married Orval Emmons on 18 July 1895 at Payne Co., OK. Margaret Anna Johnson married Edward Esterman on 12 February 1927 at Goshen, Elkhart Co., IN. Margaret Anna Johnson died in 1937. She was buried in 1937 at Mount Hope Cemetery, Middleville, Barry Co., MI, Findagrave #110603874.
Note: Some online genealogies erroneously show Margaret as the mother of one or more of Orval Emmons' children. This is understandable upon review of the 1900 census, in which she is shown as married for 20 years and his three children were younger than that. But, she was not their mother -- apparently Orval gave the 1900 information about himself, and his first marriage was indeed in 1880, and he did have three children living as of the census. Beyond the fact of their 1895 marriage record, at least a year after the youngest son Harry was born, the cemetery headstone of son Jesse Emmons shows his mother was Orval's first wife, Tirzah McQuintie or McWhinney. Margaret may or may not have had any children with her Ward husband -- no evidence of any have been found. DLB 2019.
