Carmel L. King was a career educator in the Johnson City School System. She was noted as a fair, but stern teacher who prepared her students for the culture of junior high school. She instructed two generations of many families at Northside Elementary from the late 1920's until the 1960's. During the 1954-55 school year, she was acting principal of Northside following the death of Miss Helen McLeod in 1954. Carmel preceded principals Tyson Jones and Everett Rowe. She was the daughter of James S. and Edna King and lived with her parents on West Holston, near the school.

She was buried in 1978 at Monte Vista Memorial Park, Johnson City, Washington Co., TN, Findagrave #105943950.

Catherine was born on January 8, 1924 in Minot, North Dakota to Daniel Webster and Aurelia (Mattern) King. She passed away on July 18, 2016 in Tulsa at the age of 92 years, 6 months and 10 days.

She grew up and attended school in Sawyer, North Dakota, graduating from Sawyer High School. She and Calvin M. Trimble were married on August 16, 1944 in Oklahoma City. They lived in Tulsa for several years then in 1959 moved to the Rose community where they have been since. Catherine was a loving wife, mom and a homemaker to her family.

She loved taking care of her flowers and always kept out hummingbird feeders because she enjoyed watching them. She loved to bake and she made cookies and cakes for shut-ins, neighbors who might be sick and also her church family. She also enjoyed going to visit at the nursing homes and was still driving herself around until about two months ago. She led a full and active life and she was a strong woman of faith who loved her family, friends and church family dearly. She was an excellent example to those around her and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She has been a faithful and active member of the Lowery Freewill Baptist Church for the past 60 years.

She is survived by her children, son, Curtis M. Trimble and wife Doris of Rose; daughters, Carolyn M. Livingston and husband Jim of Big Cabin, Cheryl M. Carr and husband Ben of Moody and Christine M. Newton and husband Perry of Kenwood; 27 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Ward W. King and wife Raney of Minnesota and Paul King of Omaha, Nebraska and sister, Mildred Kirstein and husband Vernon of Gresham, Oregon as well as many nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Calvin in 1997 and sister Joyce Elaine Lowe.

She was buried in July 2016 at Rose Cemetery, Rose, Mayes Co., OK, Findagrave #150490900.

Cecil was a third great-grandson of Gabriel Davault and Mildred was a second great-granddaughter of Valentine "Felty" Davault. Cecil and Mildred were fourth cousins once removed.

Cannot find any further information about Henry or the two children. DLB 2019. Charles Alfred King lived on 14 April 1930 at 811 North 25th Avenue, Omaha, Douglas Co., NE, Baker in bakery. Martz and Amanda V. Strickler, Daniel and Maggie may or may not have been legally married. This marriage ended shortly after the February 1920 census and before Daniel's 26 DEC 1922 marriage to Aurelia Mattern. In the 1925 North Dakota state census, Maggie was listed at Afton, Ward County, using her prior married surname "Armentrout", with her son Philip. Daniel Webser King lived on 9 February 1920 at Torning Twp., Ward Co., ND, farming.2 He married Aurelia Mattern, daughter of Peter Perry Mattern and Mary Catherine Goehler, on 26 December 1922 at Ward Co., ND, ceremony by Judge Murray. Marriage reported in the 28 DEC 1922 edition of The Ward County Independent, Minot, ND (Newspapers.com). Daniel Webser King lived on 24 April 1930 at Torning Twp., Ward Co., ND, farming.3 He lived on 15 April 1940 at Sawyer, Ward Co., ND, county commissioner.4 He lived in 1951 at Sawyer, Ward Co., ND, per daughter Mildred's marriage article. Surety was Henry Surber. Guardianship appointment dated 15 June 1857. (Highland County probate records, p.205.) He was the son of Milton King and Leah Gibler. David C. King lived in September 1850 at White Oak Twp., Highland Co., OH, Listed as David Lance, age 2, and appearing in the household of Catherine Lance, age 60 (immediately adjacent to household of William Lance). David King was adopted and raised by the Lance family about 1850, but was buried under the name David King.1 He died in 1870 at White Oak Twp., Highland Co., OH, David King is shown in the 1870 census, living in the household of William Lance as of the first day of June. However, he made an informal will in January of 1870, which was proven in court in March, 1871, which provided for headstones for his own grave and that of his mother and a half-brother named James A. David Giesler King married Eliza Leona Latture, daughter of Jacob Latture, on 21 November 1916, no children. Occupation: Wheat farmer and merchant. They lived in Los Angeles for 50 years. David returned to Johnson City in 1947 after Eliza's death. David Giesler King died on 21 January 1964 at Johnson City, Washington Co., TN, at age 87

DAVID G. KING
David G. King, 87, 118 W. Unaka, died in Memorial Hospital early yesterday after a long illness.

A native of Washington County, he was a son of Lafayette and Adaline Giesler King and lived for 50 years in Los Angeles. He returned to Johnson City in 1947. He was a member for many years of First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include a brother, J. S. King, city, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Morris is in charge.

KING, DAVID G. -- Funeral services for David G. King, age 87, 118 W. Unaka Ave., who died in Memorial Hospital Tuesday morning, will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday from the New Bethel Presbyterian Church, Piney Flats with the Rev. Dan Graham and the Rev. W. T. King officiating. Interment in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Arden, Ned, Stanley, Alton and Claude King, Herbert White, Edgar Crussell, and Luke Hartley. Flower attendants will be the ladies of Piney Flats Community. The body will remain in the Morris Chapel where the family will receive friends from 7 'til 9 p. m. Wednesday and will be taken to the church 1:30 p. m. Thursday to await the service hour. Pallbearers are requested to meet at the church at 2:15 p. m. Thursday. Morris Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
