Windle, son of William T. Windle and Mary E. Owen, circa 1924.¹ Anna Katherine Kramer died on 20 July 1986 at Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., CA, at age 95.

     Betty Jane Kramer was born on 9 September 1924 at Barry, Pike Co., IL. She was the daughter of James Orville Kramer and Margaret Elizabeth DeVault. Betty Jane Kramer married Coy O'Neal Warren, son of Thomas Lafayette Warren and Bertha Belle Mushaney, on 4 March 1943 at California. Betty Jane Kramer married Admerle Nelson Peckham, son of Robert Nelson Peckham and Viola Maybell Hamar, after 1959. Betty Jane Kramer and Admerle Nelson Peckham were divorced in February 1977. Betty Jane Kramer died on 9 September 2010 at Henderson, Clark Co., NV, at age 86. She was buried in September 2010 at Victor Valley Memorial Park, Victorville, San Bernardino Co., CA.

     Charles Elbert Kramer was born on 11 February 1922 at Barry, Pike Co., IL. He was the son of James Orville Kramer and Margaret Elizabeth DeVault. Charles Elbert Kramer began military service WW II, U.S. Army Air Corps, enlisted 28 FEB 1941 at Jefferson Barracks. He married Betty Jean Green, daughter of Cecil Gibson Green and Ethel Marie Mullinix, circa August 1947 at Hannibal, Marion Co., MO, Five children. He was married to Betty Jean Green in October of 1947. She preceded him in death January 26, 2013. Charles was a retired member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local No. 350.

He was a tail gunner in World War II and flew over 50 missions.

Photos my Dad, Chuck, had from when he visited his Uncle Charlie in Florida in August 1945. My Dad had a hard time getting drafted into war service -- he was just under 5' 3" which emotionally troubled him all his life (feeling so short). After trying 3 times (I was told) he was accepted in and became a tail gunner. After flying the requisite 50 missions he was released to a hospital for "combat fatigue," in the final months of the war. I'm not sure he ever recovered -- he was always a very volatile person prone to throwing things and we all learned (me and my sisters) to "be quiet" and stay out of the way when Dad came home from work (electrical worker, construction industry -- IBEW union). I only learned of his hospitalization after he died at 91 in 2013 and I started going through the military records he had given me. Finally, I had some sort of explanation for something that had been hidden from all of us in the family all those years.

On the photo's backs he wrote: "Cousin Andrew, Uncle Charlie, Me, Miami, Aug. 1945," and "Uncle Charlie and Me, Miami, August 1945." My Dad loved that Florida trip. He married my mother, Betty Jean Green, in Hannibal, MO 2 years later after a very short acquaintance. She was 7 years younger than him (born 1929) and preceded him in death in 2013 by just a few months.

     Clarence J. Kramer was born on 24 July 1900 at Iowa.¹ He married Florence Irene Beshaw in 1920. Clarence J. Kramer lived in April 1940 at Polk Twp., Benton Co., IA, farming.¹ He died on 14 April 1969 at Urbana, Benton Co., IA, at age 68.      Dorothy Louise Kramer was born on 23 February 1921 at St. Louis, MO.¹ She was the daughter of Frederick W. Kramer and Annette L. Evans.¹ Dorothy Louise Kramer died on 23 November 1987 at Los Angeles Co., CA, at age 66.

     Elizabeth Kuntz Kramer was also known as "Lizzie".¹ She was born on 16 September 1875 at Stephenson Co. (probably), IL.¹ She was the daughter of George Kramer and Sarah (?)² Elizabeth Kuntz Kramer married Rev. Isaac Henry Hauptfuehrer, son of Daniel Hauptfuehrer and Magdalena Vogelgesang, on 21 February 1912 at Stephenson Co., IL.

     Else Kramer died at Dudweiler, Palatinate. She was born in 1610 at Dudweiler, Palatinate. She married Seyfried Triem, son of Nickel Triem and Kette Buch, on 5 July 1633 at Dudweiler, Palatinate.

     Estella Elizabeth Kramer was born on 29 June 1914. She married William John Kaiser on 20 June 1940 at Allegheny Co., PA. Estella Elizabeth Kramer died on 31 July 2002 at Allegheny Co., PA, at age 88. She was buried in August 2002 at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Verona, Allegheny Co., PA.

     Florence W. Kramer was born on 4 June 1897 at Pennsylvania. She married Henry Seese Dwyer, son of Joseph Holroyd Dwier and Esther J. Bergey. Florence W. Kramer died in 1959 at Bucks Co., PA. She was buried in 1959 at Lansdale Cemetery, Lansdale, Montgomery Co., PA.

     Frederick W. Kramer married Annette L. Evans, daughter of Anson Wyatt Evans and Nellie Herold Artz.

     James Orville Kramer was born on 4 August 1892 at El Dara, Pike Co., IL. He was the son of Noah Kramer and Mary E. Mummey. James Orville Kramer married Margaret Elizabeth DeVault, daughter of Elbert S. DeVault and Sarah Ellis Harrison, on 30 August 1912 at Pittsfield, Pike Co., IL, When Bessie ran off with James Orville Kramer, her father strongly disapproved. When she came back two weeks later asking to be allowed to stay with her parents and leave her husband, her father replied, "You burnt your ass, now you have to sit on the blister. Go home to your husband."

James Orville Kramer died on 12 December 1960 at Whittier, Los Angeles Co., CA, at age 68.
Note: James Orville Kramer was a low-life gambling, moonshine running, thieving, and suspected arsonist. He was jailed for moonshine running. While Orville was a caretaker at a factory in California it burned down. He was suspected of starting the fire. Orville also stole guns. At one point he stole some guns with one of his sons, their wagon broke down in the escape, and he ran off leaving his son to take the heat.

     James Orville Kramer Jr. was born on 9 September 1916 at Illinois. He was the son of James Orville Kramer and Margaret Elizabeth DeVault. James Orville Kramer Jr. lived in April 1940 at 1634 Grace Street, Hannibal, Marion Co., MO. Occupation: Plumber in April 1940 at Hannibal, Marion Co., MO. He died on 17 January 2007 at Marion Co. (probably), MO, at age 90 last residence Hannibal, per SSDI.

     Janine Marie Kramer PhD. was born on 20 August 1955 at Orange Co., CA. She was the daughter of Charles Elbert Kramer and Betty Jean Green. Janine Marie Kramer PhD. married Richard Carl Dickason in 1978. Janine Marie Kramer PhD. and Richard Carl Dickason were divorced in 1993. Janine Marie Kramer PhD. died on 24 May 2015 at Haleiwa, Honolulu Co., HI, at age 59.

Since you asked, I was married from 23 to 39 (1978 -- 1993). I was also married for ten months when I was 21. The Richardson name comes from my first husband -- I liked the name so I kept it when I married Richard Dickason in 1978 -- and he took the name, too. He was 8 years older than me. My 3 kids were all born during my 2nd marriage (to Dickason) and were all born in Hawaii -- and at home. Richard died in 2009. Kao and my son, Zech, looked after him as best as they could during his last 2 years and for his final days, they enlisted my help.

Palama Settlement opens access to new archives (By Pat Gee)
What was once a mishmash of yellow photos and documents stacked from floor to ceiling has been organized into a coherant record of the vital role Palama Settlement has played in the growth oh Honolulu since 1896.

Dr. Janine Richardson used the archives five years ago to write a thesis on children in orphanages from 1865 to the 1930s while earning a Ph.D. at the University of Hawaii. Documents on social welfare history are usually hard to find because they've been destroyed or lost, Richardson said.
"It's really exciting that the Palama Settlement archives are going to be available ... for historians, people doing research on public health, philanthropy, urban growth histories, tenement reform, birth control -- Palama was active in so many things," Richardson said. "They (archives) provide a window into the daily lives of working-class men, women and children -- everyday people living everyday lives among the struggles of their time."

     William Ray Kramer was born on 7 October 1895 at Woodford Co., IL, WW I draft registration.¹ He was the son of William C. Kramer and Falla Nevada Besett. William Ray Kramer married Geraldine Blanche Curry, daughter of George William Curry Jr. and Laura Bertha Thompson, on 7 March 1917 at Boone Co., IA, no children. After William's death, Geraldine remarried in 1948 to Frank Daley, in 1948. He passed on 18 MAR 1965. William Ray Kramer lived in 1918 at Greene Co., IA. He died on 21 November 1941 at age 46.
